00:01 - 00:02
Hi, everybody.
00:02 - 00:03
My name is Michelle Belski.
00:04 - 00:07
You can see the spelling and pronunciation over in the
00:07 - 00:09
right hand corner, and I am going to be one
00:10 - 00:11
of your teachers here at P.
00:11 - 00:12
J. Jacobs Junior High School.
00:13 - 00:15
So I just want to give you a ah, a
00:15 - 00:18
little bit of information about myself so that, you know,
00:18 - 00:19
you can know me at least a little bit.
00:23 - 00:25
Um, I am actually a graduate of P.
00:25 - 00:26
J. Jacobs Junior High.
00:26 - 00:31
I attended PJ's back in the early ish nineties and,
00:31 - 00:34
um, yes, Mr Gilbert says here he was the assistant
00:34 - 00:38
principal back then, um, I attended Washington Elementary and then
00:38 - 00:39
PJs and then stash.
00:40 - 00:43
After graduating from stash, I went to the University of
00:43 - 00:46
Minnesota in the Twin Cities, where I studied Spanish and
00:46 - 00:49
communication and then went back to get my teaching license.
00:50 - 00:53
After that, I moved and I started my teaching career,
00:54 - 00:56
and I moved as far away from a big city.
00:57 - 01:01
As you can imagine, I moved up Teoh, rural Alaska,
01:02 - 01:07
southwest Alaska, and the place I was at its the
01:07 - 01:08
Lower Kuskokwim School district.
01:08 - 01:12
And you actually have to fly on a plane to
01:12 - 01:12
get there.
01:12 - 01:15
There are no roads to get from like other parts
01:15 - 01:15
of Alaska.
01:16 - 01:19
But where I was eso is there for eight years.
01:19 - 01:21
Then we decided it was time to go back and
01:21 - 01:22
be a little closer to family.
01:23 - 01:24
So here I am.
01:24 - 01:26
Got a job at the school where I went to
01:27 - 01:27
junior high.
01:28 - 01:29
That was interesting.
01:30 - 01:33
It's been interesting, Um, things I enjoy doing in my
01:33 - 01:33
free time.
01:34 - 01:36
As you can see in the picture here, I enjoy
01:37 - 01:38
playing roller Derby.
01:39 - 01:43
I also enjoy playing in the 90th found trivia contest
01:43 - 01:44
that goes on every year.
01:45 - 01:48
Both trivia and Derby have not happened this years, so
01:48 - 01:50
I have been, you know, sort of finding new things
01:51 - 01:51
to keep myself entertained.
01:53 - 01:55
I've been reading a lot of been riding my bike.
01:55 - 01:58
I have been doing a little bit of knitting, so,
01:59 - 02:02
you know, hanging out with the family, my two kids,
02:03 - 02:06
Isaac and Henry and the husband Sean and our dog,
02:07 - 02:09
Cusco. So that's sort of an what I've been doing,
02:10 - 02:11
probably pretty similar to what a lot of other people
02:12 - 02:16
have been doing here at P.
02:17 - 02:17
J. Jacobs.
02:17 - 02:22
I teach English the second language, and I also co
02:22 - 02:25
teach in Ah, three grade level classes.
02:26 - 02:30
So I teach 1/7 grade English class, 1/8 grade English
02:30 - 02:32
class and 1/9 grade English class.
02:32 - 02:36
So I really get Teoh know a lot of different
02:36 - 02:37
students every year.
02:37 - 02:40
Here PJs and I really enjoy it.
02:43 - 02:45
If you're looking to get a hold of me, I
02:45 - 02:45
will be honest.
02:46 - 02:47
Email is the easiest way.
02:48 - 02:48
Send me an email.
02:49 - 02:50
Parents send me an email.
02:50 - 02:52
Students send me an email.
02:53 - 02:54
Teachers some any No.
02:54 - 02:56
Okay, email is for me.
02:56 - 02:57
It's the easiest way to get in contact.
02:58 - 03:01
Um, and I'm much more likely to get the message
03:01 - 03:02
much more quickly.
03:03 - 03:04
If you do want to talk to me by phone,
03:05 - 03:07
that's great to, um, we ask that you call the
03:08 - 03:08
P. J.
03:08 - 03:12
Jacobs Main Office and they can connect you Teoh, my
03:12 - 03:13
voicemail or my classroom if I'm available.
03:15 - 03:19
Usually I may not be, um, feel free to reach
03:19 - 03:22
out to me with any questions, and I am always
03:23 - 03:24
happy to help.
03:24 - 03:29
I hope everyone has a great and save school year.
