  1. Hello.
  2. This is a presentation over the technology integration Matrix. I am India little.
  3. I want to thank you for listening to this presentation and I hope
  4. that you enjoy it so let's go ahead and hop right into it.
  5. Yeah.
  6. So what exactly is T. I am
  7. Tim is the abbreviation of technology Integration Matrix.
  8. Um It is the framework for defining and evaluating technology integration.
  9. The framework explores five levels of technology integration.
  10. These include entry adoption, adaption, infusion and transformation.
  11. We'll start at the entry level
  12. during the entry level. Students do not have direct access to technology.
  13. The use of technology is teacher controlled.
  14. A teacher is using technology to implement
  15. content from the curriculum to students.
  16. An example of this is a teacher using a
  17. Promethean board to deliver content about Hispanic heritage month.
  18. Moving into adoption,
  19. adoption is still uh the teacher is in control of what and how technology is used.
  20. Students have limited access to direct technology and they
  21. are usually doing single task in this stage.
  22. Technology is used in a conventional procedural way. An example of this.
  23. The class is working on an english project involving
  24. technology, use
  25. the teacher paces the students through it.
  26. Yeah,
  27. okay.
  28. For the level of adaptation.
  29. Most of the decisions about technology are still teacher lead in this level.
  30. Students have more independence during this stage than previously.
  31. Some student choice is provided here.
  32. Teacher is technology is incorporated as an integral piece of the curriculum.
  33. An example of this would be a teacher allows students to
  34. explore a specific site for information related to an upcoming project.
  35. Yeah.
  36. Moving into infusion this particular stage gives students
  37. a greater flexibility With the use of technology,
  38. students are able to make informed decisions about when to use certain tools
  39. the teacher provides the learning context and
  40. the students choose the technology tools.
  41. The students are required to research a topic of their choice.
  42. Using a list of acceptable sites would be a great example of this particular level.
  43. Yeah.
  44. Uh huh.
  45. Moving into transformation.
  46. So this is like the butterfly that has now come out of its cocoon.
  47. Students use technology tools in flexible ways.
  48. Um for this particular stage two students
  49. have a conceptual understanding of the tools
  50. coupled with extensive practical knowledge about their use.
  51. The teacher serves as a guide, mentor and model and the use of technology.
  52. An example of this would be in class.
  53. Students are able to choose which technology tools that
  54. they desire to use for their upcoming assignment.
  55. Uh huh.
  56. I'm moving into just a bit of statistics.
  57. I came across a study conducted in 2000 and 14 on 70 CTE
  58. classes and 70 secondary non CTE classes in north Carolina public schools.
  59. A significant positive correlation was found between technology
  60. integration and student engagement for both C.
  61. T. A. C. T. E. And non CTE classes.
  62. What?
  63. Mhm.
  64. Okay.
  65. Students are engaged in technology in many areas
  66. of their life To conclude this presentation,
  67. I want to leave you all with a quote.
  68. Technology is just a tool in terms of getting
  69. the kids to work together and motivating them.
  70. The teacher is the most important, and that is a quote by Bill Gates,
  71. because
  72. I would like to thank you for watching and listening to this presentation.
