00:01 - 00:01
Hi, guys.
00:01 - 00:02
My name is Randomizer.
00:02 - 00:04
And this is my multimodal memoir.
00:05 - 00:10
Eso Starting in elementary school, I was always really into
00:11 - 00:12
animals. Anything related to animals?
00:13 - 00:14
Um, fiction or nonfiction.
00:15 - 00:18
So these were some books that I read while in
00:18 - 00:19
elementary school?
00:19 - 00:24
Um, I basically if it was about animals, I read
00:24 - 00:27
it in our school library or a bought books about
00:28 - 00:28
it. Public library.
00:29 - 00:29
It was about an animal.
00:30 - 00:34
I read it, Um, so much so that even after
00:34 - 00:36
my mom would talk me in at night, I would
00:37 - 00:39
have a book and a flashlight stash under my pillow,
00:40 - 00:44
and I would spend half an hour hour three hours
00:44 - 00:48
after my mom took me in Just reading about the
00:48 - 00:50
different animals and just learning and absorbing all the information
00:50 - 00:55
that I could, um, in the bottom right hand corner
00:56 - 00:57
is actually a binder that I have.
00:58 - 00:58
It's a collector.
00:59 - 00:59
It's a collectible.
01:00 - 01:02
On Been in that binder.
01:02 - 01:07
There's actually probably a good 300 pages of just these
01:07 - 01:11
foldable papers with like, there's an animal on the front.
01:11 - 01:14
And then on the inside of the foldable is just
01:14 - 01:17
a bunch of information like where they're from, what their
01:18 - 01:20
habitat is there genus species all the way?
01:21 - 01:24
Uh, basically everything that we know about that animal is
01:24 - 01:25
in that form and that foldable.
01:26 - 01:29
Um, so I actually still have that the and these
01:30 - 01:31
a lot of these books were actually really important to
01:31 - 01:35
me growing up eso some TV shows that I was
01:35 - 01:37
into sticking obviously with the animal theme.
01:38 - 01:41
Um, I watched a lot of Animal Planet and some
01:41 - 01:43
of my favorite shows on there, where the Crocodile Hunter
01:43 - 01:47
Meerkat Manor an untamed and uncut, all talking about real
01:47 - 01:51
life animals showing real life stories showing real life, animal
01:52 - 01:53
involvement, stuff like that.
01:53 - 01:56
Um, I also watched a lot of boomerang.
01:57 - 02:00
Obviously being a kid, eso I watched a lot of
02:00 - 02:04
Tom and Jerry, The Flintstones, The Jetsons, Scooby Doo, things
02:04 - 02:04
like that.
02:05 - 02:06
Um And then later on in my own tree school
02:07 - 02:08
years, I started getting really into Disney.
02:09 - 02:11
Um, I think I hit my Disney phase a little
02:11 - 02:12
later than most actually.
02:13 - 02:15
But I I loved the show hit in Montana.
02:19 - 02:22
So some movies that I was into also kind of
02:22 - 02:23
following the animal theme.
02:23 - 02:26
Uh, we're Charlotte's Web, and then my two favorite Disney
02:27 - 02:30
movies very elementary school were always the line came the
02:30 - 02:31
Lion King to those were my absolute favorite.
02:32 - 02:35
They're still very high on my list of Disney movies.
02:36 - 02:38
Um, but then, as I was getting order in elementary
02:39 - 02:41
school, I started watching things like High school Musical really
02:42 - 02:44
loving also that side of Disney as well.
02:46 - 02:49
Eso then into middle school, I actually switched from animals
02:50 - 02:53
to a little more like real life medical type stuff.
02:54 - 02:57
Um, but that's not really reflected in my books that
02:57 - 02:57
I read in middle school.
02:59 - 03:01
Um, but some of the books that I was really
03:01 - 03:06
into were really outdoorsy about, like survival, things like that.
03:07 - 03:09
Eso I read hatchet the call of the wild and
03:09 - 03:14
wildlife all very much so about adventure and living in
03:14 - 03:16
the wild and exploring the wilderness.
03:17 - 03:22
Um, Wonder is about a little boy with facial deformities
03:23 - 03:27
and how he had, like, survive school and get through
03:27 - 03:28
school and make friends things like that.
03:28 - 03:29
It was really interesting.
03:30 - 03:31
Um, and I was really into a child.
03:32 - 03:37
Called it in the lost boy about, um, this boy
03:37 - 03:39
that was abused by his parents.
03:40 - 03:41
Those were super interesting as well.
03:41 - 03:42
Definitely classics.
03:42 - 03:47
I feel like everybody should read, Um, some TV shows
03:47 - 03:48
that I was really into.
03:49 - 03:51
Like I said, I started getting really into the medical
03:51 - 03:52
side of things.
03:52 - 03:55
So I started watching house and bones a lot house,
03:56 - 03:59
obviously being about just a team of doctors and solving
04:00 - 04:02
are figuring out what's wrong with people on fixing them,
04:03 - 04:07
curing them, losing them everything that goes on in the
04:07 - 04:10
hospital and then bones, using a lot of science and,
04:11 - 04:13
like the anatomy of the human body in the bone
04:14 - 04:17
structure toe solve murder cases and find identities of people
04:17 - 04:21
who have been murdered, things like that open heart took
04:22 - 04:23
place in hospital, and it was a lot of hospital
04:24 - 04:26
related stuff that was actually about like finding this girl's
04:27 - 04:28
dad who had gone missing.
04:29 - 04:31
Um, and then just being a middle schooler, I watched
04:31 - 04:33
a lot of shows like, So I went on one
04:33 - 04:35
and drinking Josh, that allowed me to laugh and have
04:35 - 04:37
fun. Just relax.
04:40 - 04:42
Um, some movies that I was into coming kind of
04:42 - 04:44
back to the animal theme would be Flicka, but also
04:45 - 04:46
being a preteen early teenager.
04:46 - 04:49
I fell in love with Channing Tatum, so I watched
04:49 - 04:51
a lot of his movies like she's the man and
04:51 - 04:51
step up.
04:52 - 04:54
Um, Like I said, I hit my Disney phase later
04:55 - 04:56
than most people normally dio.
04:56 - 05:01
So those were actually all the VHS is that we
05:01 - 05:03
own. We actually own more than that.
05:03 - 05:04
I just couldn't get them all in the picture.
05:05 - 05:09
Um, and I would I still watch those to this
05:09 - 05:14
day, but I watched ah lot of them quite frequently
05:14 - 05:16
in middle school, right?
05:18 - 05:19
Eso then moving on to high school.
05:21 - 05:25
Um, my true romantic side came out a little bit.
05:26 - 05:29
Eso I read stuff like this election and the perfect
05:29 - 05:31
chemistry Siris both both very romance.
05:31 - 05:35
E um also fell in love with sports, specifically football
05:35 - 05:36
in high school.
05:36 - 05:39
So I read the Siri's called.
05:39 - 05:40
It's called the Field Party Siri's.
05:40 - 05:43
It's all about like football in love and surviving school
05:44 - 05:44
and things like that.
05:45 - 05:47
Um, but during high school is also when I decided
05:47 - 05:51
I wanted to be a nurse, Um, so I used
05:52 - 05:56
my past of loving medical shows and the human body
05:56 - 06:02
and things like that to make that decision, Um, I
06:04 - 06:06
in my junior and senior year, I decided to take
06:07 - 06:08
college credit plus classes.
06:09 - 06:12
So my junior year, um, took a lot of pre
06:12 - 06:15
RECs like comp one and two.
06:16 - 06:20
Like a history class I took, but also took, uh,
06:20 - 06:22
general biology one my junior year in general chemistry one
06:23 - 06:26
my senior year so I could get that science into
06:27 - 06:29
me starting early for my nursing classes.
06:29 - 06:33
Um, Then I also got this anatomy coloring book so
06:34 - 06:37
I could start identifying parts of the human body, which
06:37 - 06:39
would definitely help me further in my nursing classes.
06:41 - 06:44
Yes. Um, some TV shows that I was into I
06:44 - 06:46
really like the Big Bang theory, not only because it
06:46 - 06:48
was funny, but it also kind of piqued my interest
06:48 - 06:50
with just, like, a little bit of science that's thrown
06:50 - 06:51
in here and there.
06:52 - 06:56
Um, the resident is a super high adrenaline, um, doctor
06:57 - 06:59
show it takes place in hospital shows a lot of
06:59 - 07:00
things that goes on in a hospital.
07:00 - 07:01
Good and bad.
07:02 - 07:04
Eso I really liked that for the health care aspect.
07:05 - 07:06
Like I said, I fell in love football.
07:07 - 07:09
So I watched a lot of Friday night lights during
07:09 - 07:11
high school, which it was an older show.
07:12 - 07:13
But during my high school years.
07:13 - 07:16
This is when I watched it, and then I just
07:16 - 07:16
watched friends.
07:16 - 07:18
I watched it almost every night because it was on
07:18 - 07:21
late night TV on and I would watch it before
07:21 - 07:21
I went to bed.
07:24 - 07:25
Um, so movies.
07:25 - 07:29
I watched, Um, The spot who dumped me is like
07:29 - 07:36
a funny romantic comedy action movie, Um, and then avatar
07:37 - 07:38
the Martian in the Marvel movies.
07:39 - 07:40
I'll really I love the Marvel movies.
07:40 - 07:42
They're probably my favorite movies ever.
07:43 - 07:46
Um, just But like all three of those are just
07:46 - 07:49
so like high tech, um, science advanced.
07:51 - 07:54
Kind of like fantasy type things that, like, can I
07:54 - 07:55
expanded my mind in science.
07:56 - 07:59
Um, and then I still love Disney movies.
08:00 - 08:01
So I put my water on there because I really
08:01 - 08:04
liked that movie on dhe.
08:04 - 08:05
Then my true romantic side.
08:06 - 08:09
I watched a lot of the Nicholas Sparks movies during
08:09 - 08:14
high school eso in the summer between high school and
08:14 - 08:20
college. I actually developed this thing where I pass out
08:20 - 08:23
if I see blood, Um, but I did not realize
08:24 - 08:27
that until my first semester in college, when I was
08:27 - 08:33
shadowing my sister, who's a dialysis tech, um, so there's
08:33 - 08:35
only about 10% of the world's population.
08:36 - 08:36
That actually does this.
08:37 - 08:39
They pass out when they see blood, and there's no
08:39 - 08:39
control over it.
08:40 - 08:41
It just kind of happens.
08:41 - 08:45
Eso I being one of those 10% realized that nursing
08:45 - 08:47
was not a possibility for me anymore.
08:48 - 08:49
There's too much blood involved.
08:50 - 08:51
Even if I found a job in the nursing field
08:52 - 08:55
that didn't involve blood, the schooling definitely would.
08:55 - 08:56
So I couldn't do that.
08:58 - 09:00
Um, so I actually made something very similar to this.
09:01 - 09:05
It's kind of re evaluate my life and decide what
09:05 - 09:06
I wanted to change my major, too.
09:07 - 09:10
And I looked back and realized that a lot of
09:10 - 09:12
the things that I liked about the medical shows that
09:12 - 09:17
I washed and just like nursing in general, was more
09:17 - 09:19
the science side of it instead of the like hair
09:19 - 09:20
side of it.
09:20 - 09:24
Well, the healthcare side of it, Um, but I still
09:24 - 09:29
wanted to really, like, help people like be a mentor
09:29 - 09:30
for people things like that.
09:31 - 09:33
So I thought teaching was a perfect combination of both
09:34 - 09:38
eso. Then I changed my major to integrated sciences for
09:38 - 09:41
education so that I can use my love of teaching
09:42 - 09:45
use my love of science to teach students and help
09:45 - 09:46
them figure out whatever they want to dio.
09:48 - 09:51
Um, so a lot of the books that I've read
09:51 - 09:54
recently are all about like different sciences.
09:54 - 09:59
So biology, chemistry, physics and anatomy and things about becoming
09:59 - 10:01
a teacher, teaching in a diverse society, things like that.
10:02 - 10:04
But one of the books I have read recently for
10:04 - 10:07
fun is, or, I guess, for enjoyment is the travelers
10:08 - 10:11
gift. It's about this guy who travels back in time
10:12 - 10:17
and visits different people from different time, different eras and,
10:17 - 10:18
like, learns things from them.
10:18 - 10:20
And it's all about him learning the seven pillars of
10:20 - 10:23
success. I'm some shows I I'm into.
10:24 - 10:28
I love comedies, but also like real world optical shows
10:28 - 10:30
like New Girl and Baby Daddy.
10:30 - 10:34
Um, they're just funny, but also, like have real life
10:35 - 10:35
scenarios in them.
10:36 - 10:38
I still love the medical shows like New Amsterdam and
10:38 - 10:43
Bones and 911 Very High Action, very thrilling, but also
10:44 - 10:47
very medical and, like technical in a lot of ways,
10:48 - 10:49
um, and then shows like friends and AP Bio.
10:50 - 10:52
Just watch it Night Thio, relax like I always dio
10:53 - 10:57
like I always have eso movies still really into Disney,
10:58 - 11:01
especially now that it collaborated or it bought with Pixar
11:02 - 11:03
and Marvel in the National Geographic.
11:04 - 11:06
So Disney Plus has all of the movies that I've
11:06 - 11:10
always loved watching Um, I watch a lot of Netflix,
11:11 - 11:12
So I have two other boys I've loved before.
11:13 - 11:16
Um, I saw Netflix and also hits my romantic side.
11:17 - 11:18
Um, a simple favor.
11:18 - 11:19
It's just a really good thriller movie.
11:20 - 11:21
And then I included the call of the Wild because
11:22 - 11:23
I just watched this movie a couple months ago.
11:24 - 11:26
But also, I read the book in middle school, so
11:27 - 11:29
it kind of ties in as, like, a whole throughout
11:29 - 11:30
my entire life.
11:30 - 11:35
So far, Um, okay, but a lot of reflecting on
11:36 - 11:38
a lot of these before this project actually made me
11:38 - 11:40
realize that I wanted to be a high school science
11:41 - 11:44
teacher. Um, and I think that this project would be
11:44 - 11:47
very good to dio in a high school class.
11:48 - 11:52
Um, if you found some free time with heavy curriculum
11:53 - 11:56
to allow students to figure out like the literacy is
11:57 - 12:02
that have shaped them and how they want to apply
12:02 - 12:03
that to a future career like kinda.
12:04 - 12:06
I had to dio once I was already in college.
12:07 - 12:10
But if they could figure this out now, they could
12:10 - 12:11
be like, Oh, in elementary school.
12:11 - 12:13
I was really into science and middle school was really
12:13 - 12:13
into science.
12:14 - 12:17
Why not pick a science career or whatever other case
12:18 - 12:18
that may be.
12:19 - 12:20
But I just think this would be a really good
12:20 - 12:25
project to dio for any step for students across the
12:25 - 12:28
board to figure out kind of what they want to
12:28 - 12:28
do with their lives.
