00:03 - 00:03
Hi everyone.
00:04 - 00:07
I am roger Murray and I am part of your
00:07 - 00:10
class. I am from Kamloops in south central british Columbia.
00:12 - 00:14
I've been married for 36 years.
00:14 - 00:17
I have six kids and 14 grandkids.
00:18 - 00:22
In fact my 14th was actually born on Monday Labour
00:22 - 00:25
Day. Was kind of ironic I guess, but we're glad
00:26 - 00:26
to have her here.
00:27 - 00:32
I joined the church in 1979 just before I turned
00:32 - 00:35
19 years old and about a year later I was
00:36 - 00:38
on a mission to England to serve in the England
00:39 - 00:39
leeds mission.
00:40 - 00:44
Um, I served or worked as a professional photographer doing
00:44 - 00:48
school photography for yearbooks and grads and what have you
00:48 - 00:49
for about 15 years.
00:51 - 00:54
I retired at some problems with my eyes and my
00:54 - 00:55
health and so I took an early retirement.
00:57 - 00:59
Um, my wife and I love to travel.
00:59 - 01:04
We have been to about 25 different countries and our
01:05 - 01:06
favorite is probably saint martin.
01:07 - 01:09
We try to go back every year we go because
01:09 - 01:11
of the beaches, we weren't able to go this year
01:12 - 01:15
because of covid, But we're hoping to get back in
01:15 - 01:21
2022. Um, I stay active while I'm not working.
01:21 - 01:23
I stay active working.
01:23 - 01:26
Um, this is a house that our family is built.
01:27 - 01:33
We live on 22 acres and We enjoy it.
01:33 - 01:34
It's a work in progress.
01:34 - 01:36
We've been working on it for 20 plus years.
01:38 - 01:41
This would be a view from our front front porch.
01:41 - 01:43
Our front windows is what we get to wake up
01:43 - 01:44
and look at every morning.
01:46 - 01:50
Um, this is a courtyard that we built as an
01:50 - 01:51
entrance to our house.
01:52 - 01:55
Um the white doors actually our back door in the
01:55 - 01:57
front doors around to the left.
01:59 - 02:02
My wife and I also enjoy a lot of camping
02:03 - 02:03
and hiking.
02:04 - 02:08
We bought a kayak a few years ago and I've
02:08 - 02:11
done some kayaking, this is at Myrtle Lake up in
02:11 - 02:16
south central british Columbia and Wells Gray Park um been
02:17 - 02:19
up there about 34 times now and this is our
02:20 - 02:24
tandem kayak, which is a lot of fun and we
02:25 - 02:29
also do a lot of hiking and working on our
02:29 - 02:34
house. I've, I'm in my, I don't know what you
02:34 - 02:37
call, probably my fourth semester at BYU.
02:38 - 02:40
I threw the pathway worldwide.
02:41 - 02:44
I'm working on a degree in marriage and family studies
02:46 - 02:50
trying to help to strengthen my marriage and along the
02:50 - 02:55
way I can help other people at church work on
02:55 - 02:57
their marriage is, that's what my intentions are.
02:58 - 03:00
I do it to help keep my brain going and
03:01 - 03:06
to I say to improve my marriage, I tend to
03:06 - 03:10
serve a long time in callings, been about 16, 17
03:11 - 03:12
years as an ordinance worker.
03:12 - 03:16
Been so long as a temple prep teacher that we
03:16 - 03:20
measure our Time in bishops were on our 6th bishop.
03:21 - 03:25
We I've been serving for 9.5 years on the high
03:25 - 03:27
council. I'm on my third assignment.
03:27 - 03:29
I start off with the y esa that went to
03:29 - 03:31
singles and now I'm working with the dead.
03:32 - 03:35
So I work at look after a temple and family
03:35 - 03:42
history. Um, That's just about all for me, looking forward
03:42 - 03:44
