Adventure Worship Team - August 6, 2023

Hey, worship team.

I hope you had a great weekend and you're off to

a good start on your upcoming week every so often.

I want to send you a video to tell you about information

that you need to know to be more effective in your ministry.

And also share just a couple of thoughts with you to help

keep us on track of why we do what we do.

So please watch this to the end.

I would greatly appreciate it.

I wanted to take a moment to thank you for your commitment to worship team.

Uh Every role is important to provide a quality worship experience

every week and no one position is more important than another.

And I'm so thankful for your preparation, your extra time. Uh hard work,

everything that you put into being the best you can be for Christ.

I've been leading for or leading at adventure for nine Sundays so far.

A couple of days, it seems like it's been nine years.

But when I think about all the things I want us to accomplish in the future

to make us the best that we can be.

It seems like I've only been here sometimes for nine minutes.

However, I would like to remind us of how far we have come and we've come a long way

with a lot of changes

in nine weeks. Uh We've added a new worship leader. That's me, a drum cage in

ear monitors. We've taken away the floor monitors.

We've implemented in

ear mixer controls for you to operate click tracks,

looping tracks to play and singing along with

and praise God. We have added a new bass player and some additional great musicians,

uh guest music, musicians as well with more team members to come.

Uh We've stepped up our use of planning center

online with a scheduling request and uh service orders.

Um A huge ad that just happened a few weeks ago as pro presenter.

Many,

many thanks to Carla's great attitude for being

flexible by spending extra hours learning the program.

Greatly appreciate that we've fixed and added our

front line stage lights to blind you.

Thank you very little.

And a new rehearsal schedule on Wednesday is a green room for

you all to hang out in which is coming very soon.

Spoiler alert

along with so many tweets that we have made that will help us grow

in the future

such as cleaning up uh rooms, rewiring stage floor pockets,

restructuring some of our reorganization,

uh fixing cat six cabling

for the video monitor feeds in the green room, the lobby cafe, classrooms,

gymnasium, et cetera,

and now for um all the singers and instrumentalists I want to implement

uh something called multi

track dot com, chart builder

uh band. Please go to the App store and download as soon as possible.

Then just click on the link in this email that I've

included to view a video tutorial on how this works.

You can actually with this program solo out

your parts to learn them better or mute them

so you can sing or play along with the rehearsal track in the right key even.

And it's gonna really gonna help us. But first you have to accept the invitation

that I've sent you from multi tracks

to sign up for a free account.

Now, all musicians and singers have done this already except one person.

So if you can't access a playlist when I send it to you the next time you are scheduled,

well, then it's you,

this is such an important tool for us to use.

It will shorten our rehearsal time because

uh you will be much more prepared when you arrive and it

will be more like a run through and not a rehearsal.

So let's get that as soon as possible. We'll get it up and rolling. Now,

we will continue to make changes

that I can promise you,

but I will also promise you this that I will never intentionally set you up to fail.

I know with all the changes, this can be extremely overwhelming. But you know,

uh in in, in all my years of leading hundreds of musicians and team partners.

I've never had an attitude issue from

someone who's had an authentic servant's heart.

And then, and like you guys, I appreciate that and you so much.

And actually in this context,

the word heart could be interchangeable with the word character.

And I always pray that my character focuses on the right person

and that person

is not me.

I heard it said once,

be more concerned with your character than with your

reputation because your character is what you really are,

while your reputation is merely what others think you are.

In. Luke 9 23 Jesus said, whoever wants to be my disciple

must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me.

And I always ask the teams I lead. Does your church see you as servants or stars?

Does adventure

see us as ministers or do they see us as entertainers?

And I think there are three things that stand in the way of true servant hood,

an attitude of superiority,

selfish, ulterior motives,

and confidence in our gi giftedness alone.

The Bible says that if you want to boast about someone, you boast about God

and if you want to boast about something boast about your weakness

and God's sufficiency because

guys without him, this means nothing. We are nothing.

So my last question to you in all of this is, what kind of servant are you?

And what kind of servant. Do you want to be?

This is not your church or my church?

This all belongs to God.

And someday we will be held accountable for what we did with what

we were given to make a difference for Him and him alone.

So please be encouraged to keep God's center stage and I believe his promise that he

will continue to bless us if we keep him in the center of it all.

Ok.

I have said this to all my teams that I've

led specifically so that I can publicly commit to it.

And it's this promise you are prayed for, you are appreciated and you are loved.
