  1. Hi, guys.
  2. I just wanted to make this video to kind of
  3. remind you of some expectations that we've already set in
  4. place for when you do.
  5. I ready?
  6. I know we're all in a different atmosphere.
  7. We're not in the classroom.
  8. And being at home and trying to do I ready
  9. could maybe be a little distracting.
  10. So we really need to kind of go back to
  11. the basics.
  12. And remember the practices that we've put into place for
  13. you to be a successful as you can be when
  14. you're doing your eye ready.
  15. So just to clarify again, you do need 45 minutes
  16. weekly. That is the minimum.
  17. However, you all know we've had our chats for I
  18. ready or data chats.
  19. So you know what you're reading Level has been for
  20. your fall in your winter assessments.
  21. You know what your goal is?
  22. You know what you need to do in order to
  23. perhaps be on grade level, so you may have to
  24. do more than 45 minutes.
  25. Don't undo everything you've done so far this year.
  26. Some of you have made great strides and where you
  27. were at the beginning of the year to where you
  28. are now, so we don't want to get lazy and
  29. give up now.
  30. So if you need to do 40 more than 45
  31. minutes in order to help you pass lessons and reach
  32. your goals, then you should be doing that.
  33. Some do's and don'ts.
  34. Don't listen to music while you're doing I ready.
  35. You know that you're not allowed to do that in
  36. the classroom, so don't do it at home.
  37. It's much too distracting and does not give you the
  38. best atmosphere for you did to do well on your
  39. lesson. Don't watch videos on YouTube or TV or movies
  40. or anything else.
  41. You need to focus on your lesson.
  42. Don't chat with friends or family.
  43. Don't be on your phone.
  44. Don't be talking to somebody else you need.
  45. Put yourself in a quiet place where you can focus
  46. and concentrate.
  47. Don't play with your pets.
  48. This is a big one here in my house.
  49. My daughter always wants to play with the cats.
  50. If that's going to be something that's distracting to you
  51. again, you need to put yourself in the best situation
  52. where you can get the most out of your eye.
  53. Ready lesson in time.
  54. Do you use your headphones?
  55. We've had this conversation many times in class.
  56. Use your headphones.
  57. Listen to the story being read.
  58. Listen to the questions being asked.
  59. Do you go back to the text during the quiz
  60. up in the right hand corner, there's an icon that
  61. takes you directly back to the text.
  62. It's one click, so make sure that you're doing that,
  63. especially when you're on the quiz.
  64. Do stay focused and engage the entire time.
  65. That's why I am encouraged you not to do your
  66. 45 minutes all at once because lots of times it's
  67. hard for us to stay 100% engaged for 45 minutes
  68. all at one time.
  69. So split it up so that you can pass more
  70. lessons. Remember, we want quality over quantity.
  71. That means I would rather you stick to 45 minutes
  72. and passed one or two lessons.
  73. Then do two hours and past zero lessons.
  74. Your goal is to pass lessons.
  75. You can do this.
  76. I believe in you.
  77. We've come a long way this year with with I
  78. ready. Some of you have done phenomenal work and meeting
  79. your goals, even surpassing your goals so you don't want
  80. to stop now.
  81. So just remember these tips when you're doing, I ready.
  82. Follow these do's and don'ts and make the best use
  83. of your time.
  84. If you have questions, just let me know.
  85. Good luck.
