Early Life
Born 1919, grandson of slave, son of sharecropper
Father left and never came back when a child
Lived in Virginia, moved to CA to avoid racism
When moved Jackie and sibling got into to fights with white neighbors
Finding his Talents
In High School played football, track, basketball, baseball, and track
Put anger of prejudice in his sports
Was able to lead teams to championships
Becoming a Pro
Robinson attended UCLA and played football but decided to play baseball
Robinson decided to play baseball and was scouted bt the Chicago White Sox
However, was drafted into army
After army times had a tryout from Red Sox but wasn't watched because of his race
Being a Pro
Drafted to MLB by Branch Rickey of the Dodgers 1947
Still faced racism inside of team
Robinson had to endure racial slurs and many threats
End of Career
After a decade of the Dodgers Robinson retired(1947-1957)
Was inducted Hall of Fame and got number retired
Had a movie based off of his life
