A measure of student progress across the tested grade levels in a school in Mathematics/Algebra 1, Reading/Literature, Science/Biology, and Writing.

The purposes of the PA School Performance Profile

Provide a building level score for teachers and principals as part of the Educator Effectiveness Program

Provide parents with comparative measures for the school/district of residence, neighboring schools/districts and schools/districts across the state.

To inform the public of the academic performance measures of each school, CTC, cyber charter and charter in PA.

Offer a resource for LEAs to communicate and compare performance, analyze performance indicators as related to achievement, and encourage best practice.
PA School Performance Profile
The PA School Performance Profile will provide a quantitative academic score based upon a 100 point scale for Educator Effectiveness ratings. (Teacher & Principal)

Scores are based on indicators that define a high performing school. The data elements are categorized into five areas.
All Students
Historically Under Performing Students
Building Score
Achievement 50%
Indicators of Academic Achievement 40%
Closing the Achievement Gap - All 5%
Closing the Achievement Gap - HUP 5%

Growth 40%
Indicators of Academic Growth/PVAAS

Other Academic Indicators 10%
This a non-duplicated count of Special Education, Economically Disadvantaged, and English Language Learners.
Achievement Gap
The achievement gap is calculated for each of the PSSA subjects.

Determined by comparing the base-line year (2012-13) of scores to the goal of 100% proficiency.

Benchmark for success is that half of the gap is closed over the course of six years. If a school is on track or exceeding the annual expectation they earn a 100.
Accountability
August 20, 2013 Pennsylvania's NCLB waiver request was approved.
The waiver applies to all public schools and local education agencies.
AYP is eliminated
Schools will receive a School Performance Profile Score.
Title 1 schools will receive a federal accountability designation. (Reward, Focus, Priority)
