Pedagogical Knowledge is
A teacher's knowledge of general pedagogical activities
Can be used with any content
Examples are
motivating strategies
communication with students and parents
strategies for presenting information
classroom management
discovery learning
cooperative learning
problem-based learning
Although PK is independent of content, these activities generally include content.
Allows teachers to be more efficient and effective as they draw from a toolbox of activities.
Content Knowledge
topic-specific representations in a given subject area
(CK)
Examples:
graphs of data in math
models of flower parts in science
cause and effect models in ELA
(PCK)
PCK
combines strategies/activities and knowledge of representations to facilitate learning
content-specific
unique to teaching particular concepts within a discipline
Examples of PCK are using
primary sources to teach Civil War
graphs to teach slope
arrays to teach multiplication
timelines to teach historical era
novels/stories to teach sequencing
TK is knowledge of how to use emerging technologies.
Examples of TK:
iPads
netbooks and laptops
Web 2.O
spreadsheets and word processing software
video and audio

General pedagogical activities using technology.
Examples are:
Motivating students using Class DoJo
Engaging students in cooperative learning using technology

Reading: eBooks
Example:
students collaborate to create a screencast explaining a math problem

Students use video devices to create commercials persuading people to buy their product
