INTRODUCTION
Prime Minister Innovation Award (AIPM) is one of the biggest and prestigious recognition that have been introduced by government in Malaysia.
AIPM was establish on 2010 to replace Prime Minister’s Quality Award (AKPM)
AIPM was introduced by Malaysian Administrative Modernisation and Management Planning Unit (MAMPU) and it was given by the Prime Minister.

OBJECTIVE
To encourage and improve awareness about quality in the public sector.
To encourage positive competition among public agencies towards improvement of quality management.
To benefit public agencies through benchmarking hence will identify its strength and weaknesses for further improvement in public service delivery.

SELECTION PROCESS
The selection process is undertaken by a Search Committee.
The committee is chaired by the Chief Secretary to the government and Comprises Members drawn from the public sector, private sector, institutions of higher learning and non-government organization.
The search committee ensure that only the most qualified candidates are shortlisted for the award.

EVALUATION CRITERIA
Innovative - to know whether they has introduce innovative idea that improve organization.
Ex : IJN is very alert with the development of new technologies

Relevant – contribute to high value of economic development, cost saving and has unique collaboration with people.
Ex : Established Mobile Clinic IJN

Significant - to give high impact outcome to society
Ex : Open during public holiday

Effectiveness - show benefit in terms of sustainable outcome and covers a period of time that clearly demonstrate its effectiveness
Ex : People do not have to go oversea to get treatment
BENEFIT
Easy for people in the country to get treatment of heart and don't have to go to oversea
People can get free consultation from IJN about heart disease.
Has an expert in term of medical team.
CONCLUSION
AIPM was established to ensure the agency or organization in Malaysia always strive in making and implement new innovation for the succeed of their agency.
AIPM become the mechanism for all agencies in Malaysia for encouragement to improve the product and services in order to satisfy the customer.
In this award, candidate don't have to submit their application but there are certain criteria and selection process that have been precise.
Agency that won AIPM will receive RM1 million, a trophy and certificate.
National Heart Institute of Malaysia (IJN) has won the AIPM in 2011 and has been awarded on 28 August 2012.
