Sagrada Familia
In 1883 Gaudí started a project called Basílica i temple Expiatori de la sagrada familia (Basilica and Expiatory church of holy familiy or Sagrada Familia)Gaudí completley changed the initial design.Antoni dedicated himself entirely to the project.
In 1899 Gaudí joined the Cerdle Artístic de Sant Llu (saint Luke artistic circle),a catholic artistic society founded in 1893 by the bishop Josep I Bages and the brothers Josep and Joan Llimona.
He also joined Lliga Espiritual de la mare de Déu de montserrat(spiritual leaguge our Lady of
montserrat),another catalan
organization.

Biography
Antoni Gaudí was born in 1852 Riudoms Tarragona,Spain.Antoni´s exact birth is unknown because there are no documents found.Antoni was the youngest of 5 and only three of them survived to adulthood:Rosa (1844-1879),Francesc (1851-1874) and Antoni. His family is originally from southern France.
At the beggining of the century,Gaudí was working on numerous
projects.They reflected his shift to a more personal style
inspired by nature. In 1900 he received an award for the
best building of the year from the Barcelona city council for his
casa calvet.
Between 1904 and 1910 he constructed the casa Batlló(Batlló
house) and the casa Milá (Milá house)

Gaudi spent alot of time out doors especially in summer.In the Gaudi family home mas de la catedral,afforded Gaudí the opportunity to study nature.
Gaudís enjoyment to the natural world led him to join the center excursionista de catalunya in 1879 at the age of 27.

Antoni suffered poor health and there are rumors that he turned vegetarian.Gaudí attendent nursurey school run by Francesc Berenguer.Who´s son also called Francesc later became Gaudí´s assistant.In 1876 Gaudí´s mother died at the age of 57.

On June 7 1926, Gaudí was
taking his daily walk to
Sant Felip Neri church to
pray and confess.While he was walking down the road he was struck by a passing tram and lost consciousness.He didn´t receive immediate aid because he didn´t have documents or I.D .
A police officer took him to the hospital,he didn´t recieve proper medication.He was reconized the following day by a friend.
Gaudí died on the 10th of June 1926. He was burried the 12 of June 1926 and a big crowd came to his funeral.
