The NJROTC Cadet Ranks and Ranking System The ranks you will learn about are ranks you could earn yourself if you've worked hard enough, are recognized for your achievements, and have taken the Cadet Advancement exam that is given every 9 weeks by the Training department of your unit. The NJROTC Cadet ranks and ranking system helps NS1s or lower level cadets to identify who the commanding officer is and gives authority to the most senior cadets. Cadet Seaman Apprentice
