Interactions with Native Americans
All the southern colony had a bad relationship with the native americans, they were pro-slavery. Once they declared war with the colonists and they used the Native Americans in the plantations as slaves and maids.
Famous people in the southern colonies are John Smith, George Calvert, Lord Proprietors, Charter of Carolina, and James Oglethorpe.
The first colony founded was Jamestown, Virginia in 1607.
The Southern was the warmest of the 3 regions,winters were easy to survive.
The summers were hot and made diseases spread more quickly.
Summer was the best time to grow plants.

Virginia : Virginia was founded by London company in 1607. It was founded to gain wealth and to convert the natives into Christians.
Maryland: Maryland was founded by Lord Baltimore in 1634.it was founded to gain profit and create a refuge for Roman Catholics.
North Carolina: North Carolina was founded by people from Virginia in 1653. It was founded for profit and religious freedom.
South Carolina: South Carolina was founded by eight nobles with a royal charter from King Charles the second in 1663. It was founded for profit and religious freedom.
Georgia: Georgia was founded by James Edward Oglethorpe in 1732. It was founded to serve as a place where debtors in prison could go to start a new life and to serve as a barrier against Spanish expansion from Florida.
