FOREST FIRE FACTS.....
- "On average, more than 100,000 wildfires, also called wild-land fires or forest fires, clear 4 million to 5 million acres (1.6 million to 2 million hectares) of land in the U.S. every year." (KIDSKONNECT).
CAN YOU PREVENT FOREST FIRES??
YES YOU CAN! ALWAYS CHECK TO MAKE SURE YOU ACTUALLY DID PUT OUT ANY FIRES. IF YOU STARTED A CAMPFIRE IN THE WOODS WHEN YOU WENT CAMPING YOU SHOULD DEFINITELY MAKE SURE YOU PUT IT OUT. IF YOU DIDNT THEN THAT COULD BE WHAT RUINS THE HOMES OF SOME ANIMALS. BETTER TO BE SAFE THEN SORRY!
INTRODUCING.... RUBBLE RACOON
- Did you know that roughly 90% of forest fires are stanrted by human carelessness (DoSomething.org)
- Theres an average of 1.2 million acres of woodlands that burn every year (DoSomething.org).
- "Manmade combustions from arson, human carelessness, or lack of fire safety cause wildfire disasters every year" (DoSomething.org)
PSA INFORMATION.....
Imagine this, a cartoon forest and Rubble the Raccoon is walking through the woods while cartoon families are sitting by a nice warm campfire roasting marshmallows. All the families "put out" the fires then go into there tents. Rubble the Raccoon is now standing in the middle of a a forest fire . Then he says "peoples carlessness is ruining the homes of many animals. Is that fair?" then the forest that was up in flames turns back into the same clean forest it was at the beginning. with a sign that says " Don't let the forest go up in flames, keep it from becoming my name!"
