Transcript of Tuberous Sclerosis

Tuberous Sclerosis Causes Benign tumars to grow in the brain and on other internal parts of the body such as, heart, lungs, eyes, kidneys, and on the skin. Caused by mutation on either two genes, TSC 1 or TSC 2, which encode protiens of hamartin and tuberin. Symtoms Seizures, developement delays, and behavioral problems. Treatment Surgical, to remove the tumars or drug therapy. (TSC) Facial rash with spots or bumps on nose and cheeks, small fleshy tumars under fingernails and toenails. Anti-epileptics to control seizures.
