After viewing and participating in an interactive demonstration of the library’s resources, teachers will be able to describe how to incorporate one or more of these resources into a lesson in a modified whip around.
The newest addition to our school's resources is LibGuides. LibGuides is a Web 2.0 content management tool. It allows librarians and teachers to promote resources, integrate multimedia content, and create pages or guides for research and by subject.
World Book Online
Power Library is an online portal to free materials available to all Pennsylvania libraries and their users.
Access PL two ways:
At school, use the link from LibGuides or the Library website. You are already logged in.
At home, go to http://www.delcolibraries.org and click on the link to PL on the homepage. You will need a public library card to use the databases.
Our library catalog features all of the print, ebooks, and audiobooks in our collection. Seach by title, author, subject, Reading Counts level, Lexile level, and more!

Here are a few ideas:
1. For general research on any topic!
2. To answer "What is_____?" do a World Book search in place of a google search!
3. In Math class, look up a difficult concept such as Pythagorean theorem.
4. To compare states, countries and continents.
5. To read about current events.
6. For its online dictionary and atlas

What is World Book Online?
WB Online is a powerful reference tool. It contains thousands of articles, written by experts in their field, as well as extensive multimedia and curated websites. We subscribe to WB Kids, Student, Advanced, Spanish and Timelines. Student Edition is ideal for middle school.
What is CultureGrams?
CultureGrams is ideal for students of all ages to explore the world. CG has statistical and cultural information on every country recognized by the U.N. Local experts contribute to the reports. The coverage is unbiased and equitable. Learn about customs, family and daily life, traditions, recipes, education, and more. The information, combined with an abundance of pictures and maps for every country, state and province, makes CG a fantastic resource for researchers.
How Can I Use CG?
Here are a few ideas:
1. To answer "Where in the world is __________?"
2. Reading and English classes can learn more about a country and its customs mentioned in a story.
3. Music classes can find out about a country their songs are from.
4. Steel drum students can learn about Trinidad and Tobago.

SIRS Discoverer is an excellent source for articles on any topic. If you're looking for nonfiction, "reading in the content area" pieces, try SIRS. It is also excellent for student research, especially for current topics.
Find thousands of free ebooks, for personal or classroom use. They can be downloaded, or you can project the book for a lesson. This is a nice resource for nonfiction titles.
