PERSONAL SKILLS
TIME MANAGEMENT

It refers to making the best use of time that is always limited. This allows me to assign specific time slots to activities as per their importance. Time management plays a very important role not only in organizations but also in our personal lives.
CULTURAL AWARENESS

In the workplace, cultural awareness help me remember to honor my beliefs and sensibilities that are not necessarily my own, so that as I interact with people from other cultures, no unintended breach of good manners or conversational blunders occur. As I build my cultural awareness, I also build bridges to trust, respect and understanding across cultures within my workplace, fostering productive interactions and agreements.
GOAL SETTING

The purpose of effective goal setting is to achieve what you want in life in a successful, focused and decisive manner by taking the right actions in a lesser time frame. This skill is very important because it allows me to keep myself focused and organized, it build my self-confidence and sense of accomplishment, and it helps me to achieve success more efficiently and in less time.
EFFECTIVE PROBLEM SOLVER

The goal of a good problem-solving process is to make us more “conflict-friendly” and “conflict-competent”. Problems happen all the time but they are actually providing us with information that we can use to fix what needs fixing and do a better job. The biggest challenge is to overcome the tendency to immediately come up with a solution. Solution can only be acquired at the end of the process.
STRESS MANAGEMENT

Stress is a normal physical response to real or imagined threats. It is the body’s ‘fight-or-flight’ reaction to impending harm or danger – a necessary defense mechanism wired into us since the beginning of our existence. It is important for me to manage stress in healthy ways in order to work properly in the workplace. Life can be stressful and sometimes it’s unavoidable; however, if we take responsibility for how we handle stress and implement effective strategies to deal with it, stress will become a manageable component of everyday life, not a health damaging one.
ENGINEERING SKILLS
TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE

It is the knowledge and abilities needed to accomplish mathematical and engineering tasks. Technical expertise is very vital in any job. Understanding on how to apply this expertise to solving practical problems. It is very important for me to have technical knowledge in order to make my job easier and faster in our workplace.
ORGANIZATIONAL SKILLS

This is the ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and resource planning which are considered as the key skills of an engineer. It is one of the most important transferable job skills a worker can possess. Companies need workers who can stay organized and focus on projects at hand. Organizational skills in the workplace include general organizing, planning, time management, scheduling, coordinating resources and meeting deadlines.
LOGIC AND CRITICAL THINKING

Profession relies on clear, concise, and rationale decisions and these decisions only come about through a structured process of thought.  Without a critical thinking process for decision making in place, I may find myself stuck in arriving at courses of action. Critical Thinking leads to a replicable process for planning, researching, and presenting ideas, courses of action and recommendations. It also leads to a professional format for presenting ideas, courses of action, and recommendations.
EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION SKILLS

Effective communication is an important element of success for every organization, leader, manager, supervisor, and employee. An organization whose people communicate effectively experiences fewer of the misunderstandings that create friction between people, waste time, and cause mistakes.
INTELLECTUAL ABILITIES

These are the ability to solve engineering problems, design systems etc. through creative and innovative thinking; the capability to maintain a sound theoretical approach in enabling the introduction of new technology; the ability to apply professional judgement, balancing issues of costs, benefits, safety, quality, etc.; and the ability to assess and manage risks.
ENTHUSIASM AND COMMITMENT

Learning new skills is part of every engineer's role, so we need to be adept at assimilating a lot of information. Enthusiasm lifts people.  It communicates and gives motivation to oneself and to others. So in the workplace, where people spend a lot of their time, it is very important.
Commitment to the company is very important. This causes the person to stay with the organization through thick and thin, attends work regularly, puts in a full day, protects company assets, and shares company goals.
ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT

Most of our supervisors in this department were Civil Engineers. They design and monitor the construction of roads, bridges, dams, irrigation systems, water treatment and distribution facilities, and sewage collection and treatment systems. Civil engineers are technical problem solvers. They incorporate the principles of science and mathematics into the cost-effective design of permanent and temporary structures. The development of detailed plans and specifications is a major aspect of their work.
ADMINISTRATIVE DEPARTMENT

This Department is responsible for developing and establishing office procedures, including budget preparation and maintenance of accounts, and coordinating office services with such technical work as may be performed by other units of the company. Work involves responsibility for making operating decisions, for changing procedures to meet changing needs; but technical policy or major procedural questions are referred to an administrative superior for advice and decision.
WAREHOUSE

This department involves clerical and manual logistics support tasks that includes the handling, ordering, receipt, storage, issuance and record maintenance of stock in one or more large warehouse facilities and associated protected or exposed open storage areas located throughout the company. They are responsible for the receipt, storage, security and issuing of a variety of engineering materials, supplies and equipment, frequently required by various departments and the development and maintenance of accurate inventory records.
MAINTENANCE DEPARTMENT

This department is responsible for the continuous extension, reinforcement and maintenance of the Transmission and Distribution Network of the company in order to enable it to respond to the present and future construction and developmental needs of the customers while maintaining at the same time high levels of safely, security and reliability. They are also responsible for the regular maintenance of buildings, structures, and systems used by the company.

OBSERVED ORGANIZATIONAL VALUES OR EVALUATION OF THE COMPANY
INTERPERSONAL RELATIONSHIP

They have a strong interpersonal relationship among individuals working together at Haidee Construction and Development Corporation. Employees working together ought to share a special bond for them to deliver their level best. It is essential for individuals to be honest with each other for a healthy interpersonal relationship and eventually positive ambience at the workplace.
WORKING RELATIONSHIP WITH THE SUPERVISORS

A good working relationship with your supervisor is essential since, at every stage, I need his or her professional input, constructive criticism, and general understanding. It therefore helps if the relationship gets off to a good start.
I had established a good communication with my supervisors based on mutual trust and respect that is ideal. This develops over time, of course, but a good beginning is to talk about, and clearly establish, what each expects from the other. A friendly conversation along these lines certainly clarifies practical matters. But it also provides practice in communicating with one another. And, it is also the first step in getting to know each other.
WORKING RELATIONSHIP WITH THE CO-WORKERS

When you work at a company, your colleagues obviously constitute an important factor that conduce to an interesting or horrible job. As far as I’m concerned, a great colleague is an enthusiastic, responsible, and friendly person.
An effective work relationship with co-workers allows for a positive environment. Your colleagues, supervisors and upper management view you as a team player. They respect your decisions and contributions. However, having a poor working relationship may lead to opposite results. Fellow workers and managers do not want to work with you. Aiming for healthy relationships whether the job is temporary or permanent is important. Maintaining an effective relationship with co-workers takes effort, such as regular communication.
TEAMWORK

Teamwork is an important aspect that should be provided by both employers and employees. Teamwork at Haidee Construction Development Corporation is all about people working together and working toward a common goal. They focuses less on the “I” attitude and more on the “us” attitude; they are less about the personal goals of the individual but more about the goals of the team and the company.
There are certain characteristics to remember when knowing the values of teamwork. The most important factor in teamwork is foundation. Knowing which position each person is within a team can help co-workers provide the work they're strong in; that way assignments can be completed on time and without problems. Having respect for one another is also very important.
Teamwork is essential in any circumstance, because life is all about decisions. Being able to learn from life's expectations will help individuals in future endeavors and to provide better assessments for the people they encounter.
PUNCTUALITY

Being punctual is present in every worker of HCDC. They report work timely, complete work processes on schedule, get products to market on time, and respond to customers in a timely manner in-order to satisfy the customer’s needs.
Punctuality is the most obvious form of loyalty that a person can display to his or her company. Punctuality in the workplace affects business processes, morale, and financial outcomes.  The far-reaching consequences of the lack of policies addressing the importance of punctuality can bring devastating results to the organization’s culture. It represents the most important resource in the company.
PERSONAL GROOMING

Personal grooming is very important. It describes basic personal hygiene as well as the process that prepares employees for a specific position within a company. The difference is that personal grooming is focused on appearance, while organizational grooming is focused on behavior. Both types of grooming are necessary to succeed in a work environment. Personal and organizational grooming determine what people think of you and may correspond to how well you are respected.
QUALITY OF SERVICE DELIVERED
Haidee Construction and Development Corporation (HCDC) is a construction firm that manage to have a solid reputation in the field of engineering and design works. They consider their manpower resources to be their most valuable asset. Because of the quality service that the company and employees deliver, OJT trainees like me acquired the important technical, behavioral, and intellectual skills that are needed in the field of Civil Engineering.
The only unpleasing attitude of our supervisors at HCDC is that they don’t posses a word of honor. In our first week at their company, they gave a word that we will go to the construction site after a week and let our first week to be our initiation in the office. But as time goes by, they did not fulfilled their promise. On our last week in their company, they had decided to allow us to go the site. I understand that they follow a certain protocol at their company and I think that a protocol is really essential. But it is incorrect to give us a word and yet it is not fulfilled right away. This incident made us untaught enough in the technical and intellectual skills in actual construction.
Checking of manuals must be scheduled according to the course in order to maintain orderliness and equality in the line.
The school or the coordinator must check the list of companies properly in order ensure that the students will learn and benefit the right knowledge and skills needed for his/her field of study.
The school or the coordinator must update their OJT trainees about their practicum requirements properly through effective and convenient communication such as text message and facebook groups.
The student must have a contact number of the school or the coordinator in order for him/her to ask them about important updates of the practicum requirements.
Thank you and God Bless!
