Yes, the more air that can get under the wings the longer the airplane will stay airborne increasing the chances it will fly farther.

Some types of paper are heavier than others and that will affect the distance and the drop.

As temperature goes up the air density goes down. The lower the density of the air the more unacceptable the flight will be.

Aerodynamics is a branch of dynamics concerned with the studying of the motion of air.

Speed increases with altitude. The higher the altitude, the faster you go. When you see a plane in the sky and it looks like it is going slow it is really going very fast.

My hypothesis was that longer paper airplane will fly farther than a wide paper airplane. I think this is true because the tip of the longer plane will cut through the air which will reduce air resistance and allow it to fly farther.
You will need two sheets of notebook paper of the exact same weight and thickness. You will also need scissors, ruler, a pen and paper for notes.
Step 1: Fold paper airplane.
Step 2: Fly paper airplane.
Step 3: Take notes.
Step 4: Fly under different conditions.
Step 5: Fold another paper airplane.
Step 6: Fly the paper airplane.
Step 7: Take notes.
Step 8: Fly under different conditions. Step 9: Take notes.
Step 10: Draw a conclusion.
For the first condition we flew with no wind. The long paper airplane flew 5 yards and the wide paper airplane flew 3 yards and 2 inches. The next condition was high altitude. The long paper airplane flew 3 yards and 35 inches. The wide paper airplane flew 1 yard and 31 inches.
The next condition was low altitude.
The long paper airplane flew 3 yards and 12 inches. The wide paper airplane flew 2 yards and 18 and 1/2 inches.
The last condition was wind.
The long paper airplane flew 2 yards and 21 inches. The wide paper airplane flew 2 yards and 2 inches.
My conclusion is that long paper airplanes do indeed fly farther than wide paper airplanes. The long paper airplane flew farther than the wide paper airplane because it cut through the air and reduced air resistance. The wide paper airplane flew worse because it had more wind resistance because the wingspan caught the air more.
