Bob Gibson Bob Gibson was born on November 9th, 1935, in Omaha, Nebraska. His father passed away when he was three years old. Not only did Gibson play baseball, he also played basketball. Bob played on the Harlem Globetrotters for some time. He was signed by the St. Louis Cardinals in 1957 as a free agent. He played on the Cardinals from 1959-1975. Bob Gibson’s baseball jersey numbers were 58, 31, and 45. His highest salary was $175,000. He won nine Golden Glove awards. He was the MVP for two World Series.
