Double click anywhere & add an idea born may25,1803 born in:boston,Mass son of Ruth Haskins and rev.william Emerson,a unitarin minister who descended from a well-known line of ministers the young Ralph Waldo Emerson's father died from stomach cancer on May12,1811, less than two weeks before Emerson's eighth birthday boston's second church invited Emerson to serve as its junior pastor and he was ordained on March11,1839 less than two years later, Ellen died at the age of 20 on feb8,1831 after uttering her last words:"i havenot forgot the peace and joy" Emerson and other like minded intellecutuals founded the transcendental club,which served as a center for the movement
