People use Facebook to shape and create an identity.
Facebook has become a reflection of real social life
When's the last time YOU posted?
What goes into a Facebook status
Statuses are our own personal broadcasting systems
(status = words + multimedia + tags + links etc.)
by Cindy Liu
& Leo Traub

People create identities on Facebook in many different ways.
Ex: photos, information page, comments & wall posts, etc.
But the most direct way..
...is with statuses.
Almost never.
Every now and then.
Pretty often.
It may be faster to count when I don't post statuses...
A status may
consist of exactly
one sentence.
A status may also
consist of multiple
sentences. This
example status
has two sentences.
Only a select number of people.
Friends only.
Friends, and friends of friends.
While certainly the most uncommon, as it is the longest, a status may consist of a paragraph (or more). Since status updates are similar to tweets - tweets are limited to 140 characters, most statuses are also around 140 characters. Did you know that it is possible to type a coherent, grammatically correct tweet that is exactly 140 characters? Or that Facebook limits number of characters shown in a preview of someone's status? If you are reading this, I hope you have a nice day!
