Social Media Policy

Think of traditional media as a one-way street where you can read a newspaper or listen to a report on television, but you have very limited ability to give your thoughts on the matter.

Social media, on the other hand, is a two-way street that gives you the ability to communicate too.
: Quirky and not afraid to push the envelope.
: This type of voice is particularly useful for niche audiences.
: Actively asking questions and giving shout-outs. Posts that inspire curiosity fall into this category.
: Posts that motivate us to go above and beyond. Anything that inspires people to take action.
: Anything educational or that provides solutions to common problems. This is the voice behind “life-hacks” and “quick tutorials.” Making your audience feel like you “get them” is essential for this type of voice.
Types of Voice
Although funny posts tend to go viral faster, helpful posts
build the most loyalty
Define Your Message
What are you trying to do?
: Make people do something, attend an event, or engage with your cause.
: Inform people about a project, provide additional insight about a topic or help people understand the importance of something.
: Amuse people, by providing content that is unique, interesting and timely, in order to entice people to keep coming back for more.
