An elementary school teacher is an early education provider who helps young children develop social skills and positive learning habits. Elementary School Teacher I chose an Elementary School Teacher because I have interest in going to college for this career. In addition to learning more in depth about being a teacher. Why did you choose this career? All public school teachers are required to have a state teaching license and must graduate from a 4-year program. Some schools require teachers to have teaching experiences referred to as internship. Educational requirements: A 4-year college is recommended for this profession. Recommended schools Credentials or special licensure Some licensure are Duplicate License Request Form, Emergency License Requests, 1-Year Administrator License Request, and along with many others Working conditions/environment Elementary school teachers work in public and private schools. They use nights and weekends to prepare lessons and grade papers. Tasks/Responsibilities An elementary teacher follows professional practices and system in working with the children. Along with planning curriculum, maintaining a safe environment, and evaluating performances. Salary range The salary range for a typical elementary teacher is $52,344 Advancements Teachers who receive national certification may receive a higher salary and teachers with further preparation, can become school librarians, instructional coordinators, guidance counselors, administrators or supervisors.
