Persephone By: Sara The Abduction of
Persephone Message The reason behind
the myth. Opinions Relevance of the theme
today Hades Demeter Hecate Persephone's Abduction Queen of the Underworld
and wife to Hades. Goddess of spring growth The daughter of Zeus and Demeter. Who is Persephone? One day, Persephone was out picking
flowers with her friends when Hades suddenly
came out of the ground and kidnapped Persephone. Demeter grieves the loss of her daughter. Goddess of the Dark Moon, Crossroads,
and Magic Demeter goes to the house of Hades to get
Persephone back. This myth was made to explain why the
seasons changed. Persephone treats Hades to coldly. He treats her nicely, but to me it seems like she's whining. This story was only used to describe the changing of
the seasons. There isn't really much to it, unless you
relate it to the fact that these days, children, teens, men, women, seniors etc. get kidnapped for the captor's
own selfish needs, like how Hades kidnapped
Persephone because he was in love with her
even though that isn't what she
wanted. http://www.medeaslair.net/images/flowers2.jpg http://images.epilogue.net/users/artandwords/persephone4.jpg http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-eS15rxlKSnA/T1WVawk4MNI/AAAAAAAAAfs/-jy6PwVRRec/s1600/persephone-picking-flowers.jpg http://www.moiraelliott.com/paintings/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/Demeter-and-Persephone.-The-Phases-of-Leaving..jpg http://www.kellymorgen.com/Demeter.jpg http://images5.fanpop.com/image/photos/25500000/Hecate-hecate-25512885-300-412.jpg http://images5.fanpop.com/image/photos/25000000/Hades-childhood-animated-movie-villains-25060468-1024-768.jpg http://seanchristiandampier.com/images/gallery/persephone.jpg Pomegranate Hades offers Persephone a pomegranate. Conclusion The story ends off with Persephone having
to spend 6 months with her mother and the
other 6 with Hades in the Underworld. http://www.monstercommute.com/comics/2009-02-20-the-four-seasons-of-traffic.jpg Main Problem The main problems in this story were that everyone on earth was starving and that Persephone was missing. http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-n7TYXd9DUqw/Th4ZX705IqI/AAAAAAAAAGw/dPLaB_2y6LE/s1600/1.jpg Bibliography:
