Transcript of Animal Rights

Do animals have rights, and if so, should they be protected? By priyanka, rosy and kripa Animal Experimentation for scientific Research Animal Experimentation Animals kept in unnatural conditions ( a lab and not their natural habitat), or animals in pain or distress, are not giving rise to accurate or consistent results.
The reaction of the drug in the animal’s body versus the human body is different.
consequences of animal testing may not be applicable to humans. MORALITY ISSUES:
Animals have the right to live
we are not allowed to meddle with them just because we can.
Animals suffer as they are mostly euthanized after research or others are wounded and live their life in captivity Acceptable bacause........
Finding drugs and treatments to improve health and medicine.
- lifesaving medical breakthroughs as result of animal testing,
open heart surgery,
organtransplants,(Xenotransplantation)
effective insulin,
vaccines for deadly disease VALIDITY/ USEFULNESS ACCEPTABLE ONLY IF
suffering is minimised in all experiments

human benefits are gained which could not be obtained by using other methods

Used for life saving purposes not cosmetics and other commercial issues

Species which are abundant and reproduce fast are used (like fruit flies, not chimpanzees) The three Rs are a
set of principles
that scientists are encouraged
to follow in order to
reduce
the impact of research
on animals. Refining the experiment or the way the
animals are cared for so as to reduce their suffering by:

Using less invasive techniques
Better medical care
Better living conditions REFINEMENT: Replacing experiments on animals with alternative techniques such as:
Experimenting on cell cultures instead
of whole animals
Using computer models
Studying human volunteers
Using epidemiological studies REPLACEMENT Reducing the number of animals used in experiments
by:
Improving experimental techniques
Improving techniques of data analysis
Sharing information with other
researchers REDUCTION Meat provides us with some essential nutrients but those nutrients are available from other vegan food. ALTERNATIVE VEGAN FOOD And most importantly they should be anesthetized before killing small cages

hygienic places

transportation should be more
comfortable What should be taken care of killing animals painfully should not be allowed

also treating them cruelly before killing should not be allowed What should be taken care of

The law of nature
If we do not eat the animal some bigger animal will EATING ANIMALS CAN BE ALLOWED BECAUSE Different cultures are known for what they eat
The food industry is growing and provides employment
Provides nutrients EATING ANIMALS CAN BE ALLOWED BECAUSE: LENTILS SOYABEAN PROTEINS OAT MEALS KIDNEY BEANS IRON TOFU ALMONDS CALCIUM IN NEPAL

killing goats, chickens for gods is a common practice in temples
Killing cows is illegal
Crows and dogs worshiped during tihar Culturally

over another, especially in the exploitation or mistreatment of animals by humans. Animals used for entertainment, labour and religious purposes Animal Right Over 2 million cats and dogs were killed for their fur in countries like China and Hong Kong. Pets- CRUEL CONFINEMENT animals suffer when captured Kindness and compassion towards animals is, however, an important thing to be taught and moreover to be followed. Few children draw fun out of activities like torturing domestic animals. At home is where you begin Your text here
Animals killed mercilessly by electrocuting the animal with steel rods, which are inserted anally leaving the coat intact.
Other methods include suffocating them, breaking their necks and shockingly even clubbing them to death.

People try to return unwanted animals to their natural homes or abandon them outdoors. Without appropriate habitats or rehabilitation, these animals will starve or fall victim to the elements or predators. Born free sold out Blood sport cannot be justified as means
of pest control and cultural integrity

don't die in the fighting ring, the "losers"
are killed by their trainers—often by being
electrocuted, drowned, hanged, burned,
or shot Even if we think they are less intelligent should protect them by rights Animals are equal to human beings Entertainment not education Using animals demeans us humans

Principle of equality advocates equal
consideration

Treating animals as property prevents them
from being perceived as part of the community

Cruel training Merciless killings around the world unseen Religion as god commands you to do it Torture is no culture Thousands of dolphins are slaughtered every
year at a particular coast of Denmark.
It is a kind of ritual performed
to mark the transition from
teenage to adulthood by
the youth of this country. Slaughterhouse workers rip the heads of
turkeys while these birds are fully conscious.
workers pick the poultry bird by their legs and
hit them hard on the wall
neglect by workers in slaughterhouses
is one of the common forms,
animals are left bleeding in a
half-slaughtered condition Bears, elephants, tigers, and other animals do not voluntarily ride bicycles, stand on their
heads, balance on balls, or jump through rings of fire.
Elephants have suffered from lameness, arthritis and food abscesses. Elephant deaths in circuses are commonly caused due to osteoporosis: simply because they do not have wide spaces to move around. Circus and Zoo the saddest show on Earth
