Arctic Monkey's- Do I Wanna Know?
Indie rock is a genre of alternative rock that originated in the United Kingdom and the United States in the 1980s. Indie rock is extremely diverse, with sub-genres that include indie pop, jangle pop, C86, and lo-fi, among others. Originally used to describe record labels, the term became associated with the music they produced and was initially used interchangeably with alternative rock
In the 2000s, the changing music industry, the decline in record sales, the growth of new digital technology and increased use of the Internet as a tool for music promotion, allowed a new wave of indie rock bands to achieve mainstream success.
Target Audience
The target audience for Indie-Rock music is usually a male audience aged between 15 and 24. This is generally the target audience for indie-rock music because of the certain bands chose of clothing as many boys aged between 15 and 24 have similar costume chose. This genre of music is also closely related to that target audience because the life style bands have may relate to some boys lifestyles.
