Ezra Jack Keats, Author and Illustrator by Cindy Abundez, Ezra Jack Keats began to write children's books in 1954. Ezra was born in March 11, 1916 and died May,6 1983. Gjonzef Pllumaj In 1960, Ezra Jack Keats published My Dog is Lost in collaboration with Pat Cherr. Ezra Jack Keats was raised most of his childhood in Brooklyn. Ezra Jack Keats had really good detail. He also had a rough time with adult critics. Ezra Jack Keats won a Caldecott medal in 1963. Ezra Jack Keats illustrated 70 books for other authors.
