Transcript of Mars Rover

Mars Rover
Is the robotic end effector multi-functional? If so, what other tasks can it perform?
Where is the robot used? What is its work envelope (how many degrees of freedom or flexible joints does it have)?
How is the Mars Rover taught to perform its task?
The impact that the Mars Rover has had or could have had on its intended audience.
What type of jobs/careers can this robot create to provide employment for people?
Predict and explain how the Mars Rover may be altered to perform more or different tasks in the future.
The mars rover takes picture of mars and checks the dirt for any signs of life. It also sends data back to NASA.
It is used on mars. The work envelope is 3 degrees it also has 3 joints in its arm and it can reach up to 3 feet.
Yes, it is multi-functional. it can take colored pictures, magnifying things and more.
Data that has been gathered or transferred to scientist and engineers via a down link through the high gain antenna. Also, it is an auto-mated motor vehicle.
Saved more money for people to go to Mars and also saving people having to go to Mars and study things.
Manufacturing, transportation, surgery, weaponry, safety, and research.
There will be more Rovers on Mars and NASA says there will be a new Rover to land on Mars by March 2020 and it will have more features and tasks to accomplish.
What sensors does the Mars Rover have and how does it use these sensors?
Cameras - as eyes to let the scientist know where the rover is or has been.
MARDI - help plan routes
MASTCAM - video tapes
MAHLI - helps identify minerals and rocks
That's not all though there are more.
What task does the Mars Rover Perform? What human function or task does this robot simulate?
Advantages & Disadvantages of using the Mars Rover to complete this task.
