Transcript of Love
She is the novels protagonist. She is a Southern belle who grows up on the Georgia plantation of Tara in the years before the civil war.
Throughout the novel, Scarlett believes that she loves Ashley Wilkes.
After Scarlett's sister died, Scarlett realizes that she really loves her husband Rhett Butler.
Things did not end happily ever after. Rhett knew that Scarlett was in love with Ashley, so eventually he got tired of waiting, and decided to leave Scarlett.
Although Scarlett was completely stunned when he told her, she wasn't completely hopeless.
"I'll think of if it all tomorrow, at Tara. I can stand it then. Tomorrow, I'll think of some way to get him back. After all, tomorrow is another day." (Mitchell 1037)
Scarlett has the hope of getting Rhett back.
Juliet is a beautiful thirteen-year-old girl, as the play begins Juliet is a child who has thought little about love and marriage, especially to Paris, but she grows up quickly when she falls in love with Romeo, the son of her family's great enemy, the Montagues.
When Juliet drank that potion, she had the hopes of waking up to find Romeo and live with him forever.
When she woke up and found out that Romeo was dead, she was completely hopeless, because there is no way to bring someone back from the dead.
So with a broken heart Juliet decided to end her life, so she could be with Romeo again.
Eponine lives in the lower class at an inn with her parents, and sometimes helps them steal. She is later redeemed for her love of Marius.
Eponine loves Marius, but Marius loves Cosette, who Eponine used to know when they were kids.
Although Eponine knew that Marius loved someone else, she still clung on to Marius and stayed with him until the end. Although she didn't have any hope on getting Marius back, she still went to the barricade with him.
Unlike Juliet, Eponine dies to save Marius not to be with Marius. At the barricade, someone was about to shoot Marius, but Eponine pushes the gun away and gets shot herself, and she ends up dying.
Although love leaves a person with a broken heart, love still has its advantages. Love helps you realize what you want. Scarlett wants Rhett, Juliet wants to be with Romeo, and Eponine wants Marius to be there as she dies.
