UNIT 15 - LEARNING EXPERIENCES FOR CHILDREN & YOUNG PEOPLE There are several learning experiences that children of all ages can be involved in. Theses experiences help children to grow and develop and it is important that you are aware of the different activities that are appropriate for children in each age range.

In this unit you will:

- Learn about different types of play for children and young people
- Explore work related skills required when providing learning experiences for children and young people
- Understand how to assess your own work related skills when providing learning experiences for children and young people. Know about learning experiences
0-3 years Variety of activities and experiences that will help them grow and learn. Children at 0-3 age range learn through moving around and using their senses Seeing Hearing Touching Smelling and tasting HAPPY BABY Books and Stories Activities you can do with 0-3 Rhymes Music, singing and movies Treasure baskets and household utensils Playing with a pram Bath and toys Games Peek-a-boo Table-top games Outdoor activities Parks Shops Seaside Matching games Pairs Hide and Seek - Encourages interaction and facial expressions Develop social skills Help them enjoy bath experiences and introduce hygiene at an early age Encourages children to use imagination Helps them learn about the world around them Lets them experiment, use imagination, and develop basic words, sit still, concentrate or dance and movearound.
