Globalization
by: Caroline Bolling
Did you know that

GLOBALIZATION
affects you?
GLOBALIZATION
is the spreading of ideas, cultures, and products.
What is
GLOBALIZATION
?
GLOBALIZATION
occurs by transporting cultures, ideas, or products around the world. Technology today promotes
GLOBALIZATION
with the touch of a finger!
How does
GLOBALIZATION
occur?
How does

GLOBALIZATION
affect our lives?
What is an example of
GLOBALIZATION?
The INTERNET is a excellent example of how GLOBALIZATION spreads. On the INTERNET, ideas spread very quickly using social media such as Facebook , Youtube , Twitter ,Instagram , and so much more! Just one social app is Globalization.
What are some
BENEFITS
of GLOBALIZATION?
GLOBALIZATION increases the demand of products worldwide. McDonald's is a great example. Imagine how McDonald's became globalized. People loved it so much that more and more McDonald's restaurants opened not only in America, but all over the world.
What is another
BENEFIT
of GLOBALIZATION?
Globalization

us

in America. We have access to better products. We know that we have better access because instead of making everything in the

, we can pay other countries to do our work for less pay and to create the products better.
Another benefit of globalization is that the world is becoming more and more interconnected politically. Countries often work together to make trade agreements. To increase trade, many countries have created trade agreements with other countries.
What are the
BENEFITS
of GLOBALIZATION?
What are the
DANGERS
of
GLOBALIZATION?
One danger of globalization is that globalization can increase the spread of disease across the GLOBE. An example of that danger is Tuberculosis (TB). TB has been one of history’s worst diseases, killing over 3 million people per year. Fifty percent of people infected with TB today live in Asia. TB mostly spreads through air travel and transportation.
What are the
DANGERS
of GLOBALIZATION?
Another
DANGER
of globalization is that more people live in poor conditions and work in poor conditions. An example of that is a sweatshop. A sweatshop is a factory, especially in the clothing industry, where workers are employed at very low wages for long hours.
What are the
DANGERS
of globalization?
GLOBALIZATION
affects everything in our lives. Do you use your phone every day? Do you use the internet every day? Do you buy products from other countries? Look at the tags on your clothing. Is it made in CHINA, INDIA, or maybe TAIWAN?
One other
DANGER
of globalization is the loss of jobs in America. To save money, American businesses outsource jobs to other countries because the cost of labor is cheaper. For example, a worker in India gets paid $3 an hour, and a worker in America gets paid $15 hour. You would go to India and set up your jobs there. Therefore, the people who worked in America lose their jobs.

What are the CONNECTIONS? How do they affect our lives?
One connection that can affect our lives is clothing. Where is your clothing made? Did you know that most of your clothes are not made in the U.S.A? Let's say your clothes are made in Japan. Then they are shipped over to the U.S.A. Then you wear the clothes that were made in Japan. That is an example of how other countries affect us and how we live.
What are the CONNECTIONS? How do they affect us?
Trade is one connection in our lives that connects with us. Trade affects us because when we trade something from another country, it can spread to where it is a global trend. When we went to a museum a few weeks ago, we saw the patterns that the indians had. I realized that I saw that pattern in lots of clothing stores today!
What is my position on Globalization?
Additionally, with globalization we can defeat some of the dangers by working together as one! if we work together than we can help get a cure for sicknesses. If we work together we can prevent the loss of jobs. Globalization benefits us more than it hurts us. Without globalization the world will never change!
For me, I think Globalization is positive. It is better for the world because we can connect with other countries by social media. I am a supporter because the world can get more connected.
What is my position on globalization?
What is my position on Globalization?
So, what's your position on Globalization? What do you think? Is globalization
GOOD
or
BAD
?
YOU DECIDE!
