Chinese Dumplings Preparation History Tradition Present Folk Chinese dumplings are a traditional Chinese Food, which are seen as symbols of wealth and luck in Chinese culture You can make a variety of Chinese dumplings using different fillings based on your taste.

fish, and

Popular vegetable fillings include
scallion (spring onions),
leek, and
garlic chives. Dumplings can be dated back to the Sung Dynasty, between 500 and 600 years.
Dumplings are made specifically to celebrate the Spring Festival, which marks the start of a new year.
These tasty treats are used as symbols to designate personal wishes and desires for the new year Chinese dumplings may be divided into various types depending on how they are cooked:
Boiled dumplings
Steamed dumplings
Fried dumplings Spring Festival Chinese New Year is the longest and most important festivity in the Chinese Calendar. The origin of Chinese New Year is itself centuries old and gains significance because of several myths and traditions.

Ancient Chinese New Year is a reflection on how the people behaved and what they believed in the most.

Chinese dumpling is one of the most important foods in Spring Festival. Since the shape of Chinese dumplings is similar to ancient Chinese gold or silver ingot, they symbolize wealth.

Traditionally, the members of a family get together to make dumplings during the New Year's Eve. They may hide a coin in one of the dumplings. The person who finds the coin will likely have a good fortune in the New Year. Dumplings are eaten all year round and can be eaten at any time of the day – breakfast, lunch or dinner. They can constitute one course, starter or side dish, or the main meal. Every family has its own preferred method of making them, with favourite fillings, and of course, jiaozi types and preparation vary widely according to region. According to folk tales, in the old days, dumplings were often eaten in memory of Doctor Zhang Zhongjing, one of the greatest practitioners of traditional Chinese medicine in history.
