-In Rome, they use Roman
Numerals as numbers.
-THey used a special stylus to write with

Breakfast:
- Fresh fruit and bread

How did the Romans get from place to place?
-the romans traveled by chariots which where 2 wheeled carts pulled by 4 horses
-chariots were also used in races or compeitions at circuses

This is a Chariot

This is a ship
This is their paved roads
market
Education in Rome
-Girls did not learn math
-Both Boysand Girls left school between ages 13-16 to prepare for marraige.
- Men wore togas to show they were a citizen
- A toga is a square or rectangle of cloth draped over one shoulder and carefully wrapped around the body
-Some younger boys wore togas also

Fathers were very powerful

-The most powerful person in the family was the father -Boys had a ceromony at age 14 to get ready to be a man
Roman Women's Clothing
-Women wore stolas or Tunics
- Women in Rome either wore leather sandals or walked barefoot
-Wealthy women wore jewelry
Roman Meals
Breakfast:
-Bread and Cheese- sometimes they added olives
-wheat pancakes with dates and honey
SHIPS
-ships were used for trade
-you could use them for battle
- They could also just go on Vacation
-canals were also used for boats to get around
-Merchants Traveld differently;they used pack animals and carts
-merchant carts were pulled by oxen
-pack animals and carts did the same thing. they caried goods that the merchant was going to sell at the market

-these roads had speed bumps
-they even had draine pipes on both sides of the road
-the romans conqured a network which is known as the "famous roman roads"
-After work, the Romans would travel
on paved roads to go to bath houses
to relax, talk, exercise, and bathe.

Lunch:
-cooked meat like salami or ham
-salad
-cheese
-THe Romans would have one school
with one teacher and one classroom.
-kids started school at age seven

-Boys would go on to
become lawyers or a
career in government
-Boys studied greek

Dinner:
-Fish or cooked meat and vegetables.
-for dessert honeyed bread or stuffed dates

-When turning 14 they started to wear the same clothes that adults wore
-During the early republic most Romans walked around barefoot

The Rich and Poor
-Rich people lived in very nice houses with nice things
-Poor people did not live in very nice houseswith not much of anything
-The Romans used Roman numerals for their numbes
-CHildren used stylists to wrtie with

-Poor people worked very hard and didn't have a good life
