When he states "nothing really matters anyone can see, nothing really matters to me," and "anyway the wind blows," he's expressing acceptance of his death. Reflected by his soft speech and the calmness in his tone as well as the background music which sounds tranquilizing

obviously, there's no real monster, what it's referring to is the situation he's in; he's being executed

Plot- A young man just killed someone & is about to be executed in front of the town. He goes through several emotions: denial, hopelessness, anger, and finally acceptance.

"Is this the real life?

Is this just fantasy?

Caught in a landslide

No escape from reality"

My thoughts

the author is in denial about the situation he is in and feels as if it's surreal

Hopelessness

"Mama, life had just begun, but now I've gone & thrown it all away. Mama oo didn't mean to make you cry. If I'm not back again this time tomorrow carry on, carry on as if nothing really matters."

Anger

My thoughts

hes saying this to everyone watching him, about to be executed

"So you think you can stone me and spit in my eye

So you think you can love me and leave me to die

Oh baby - can't do this to me baby

Just gotta get out - just gotta get right outta here"

At this point, he's feeling hopeless. He asks his family to carry on because he believes that his life doesn't really matter

My Thoughts

You can see that the character is angry by what he's saying and the tone he is using. The music also sounds angry. The instruments get louder and the beat gets faster.
