The Origin of Video Games

The first video game was called 'Tennis for Two' and was invented by William Higinbothan. Tennis for Two was a two player electronic tennis game with 2 separate controllers and an analog computer with an oscilloscope as a screen. The game was released on October 18, 1958.
Language of the Discipline
Console:
A device that outputs a signal to
display a video game. I like to play video games on my Xbox console.
Controller:
A device used to interact with the
game.
Ex: I used a controller to move my character
Video Game:
A game played by electronically manipulating images produced by a computer program on a television screen or other display screen.
Ex: I have a video game called Destiny on my Xbox
This is the Magnavox Odyssey, the first video game console created.
