She was a great and noble ruler. Catherine de Medici was born on April 13, 1519 in Florence. Her father was Lorene de Medici and her mother was Madeleine de la tour d'auvergne. She was very well educated. She attended
convert in Rome in Florence. Catherine was studying to be come a nun. She study art, music, architecture,
greek, Latin, math. During her reign Catherine met with many problems including the religious war dealing with the Huguenot. She reigned over Consort in France til the March 31, 1547 – July 10, 1559. Catherine de Medici died on January 5, 1589.
