Transcript of HOME AUTOMATION
We AIM to create a home automation system
An Android application will be used for controlling the state of the switches via bluetooth and internet.
There will also be external switches present for turning them on/off without the android app.
Continuous synchronization between app and the switch hubs to update the switch state in the app.
These switches can also be controlled by voice commands given via application.
This project can be extended for a full house by creating a separate microcontroller hub for channelling and directing the information for multiple switchboards.
Communication mode may be changed to Wi-Fi for better range and lesser power consumption.
Communication mode may be changed to GSM/internet for easy access to switches from anywhere in the world.
Electronic regulators may be included for accessing fan speed through the app also.
A switch board is constructed which replaces the standard switchboards in the house for simple establishment of the home automation system.
Switch board contains an Arduino Microcontroller which controls the state of the switches through commands given via the Android app or also manually using external switch.
This android app will have a two way control with the arduino via bluetooth and internet.
Arduino is connected to relays which helps to turn on/off the power supply to the appliance.
We have learnt basics of android app development and arduino coding.
We initially made an Arduino model which controls the electric equipment with a switch.
Next we made our First planned model, in which we made another app which connects to the Arduino via Bluetooth and also provides a continuous feedback of the status of the switches.
Here we have attached a Bluetooth module (HC-05) to the Arduino.
Voice Command in App
The android app has a feedback system to update the state of switches continously.
For control via voice commands we have used google voice as a tool to process the voice and change it to text and then use to change state of button, thus including the voice processing in our app.
The whole circuit has been installed in our room.
We have also made another app with included voice processing, which controls the LED in the Arduino via voice commands over Bluetooth.
We have made a small app which is able to extract data from an online website.
From local server we can control lights using ethernet shield and Arduino.
We have successfully established connection between App and Light bulb using Arduino and Relay.
