Tigers are endangered
Tigers are a part of the red endangered list. This list is how scientist gauge what animals are endangered.
Why tigers are on the brink of extinction.
In the 1900's tigers were killed by big game hunters,because the skin of a tiger was very valuable.
Tigers have 9 subspecies
There are nine subspecies, 3 of the 9 subspecies are extinct. these three are the, Caspian, Bali, and Javan. The species that are still alive are the, Amur, Bengal, Indochinese, Siberian, Malayan, South china
Indochinese tigers
The Indochinese tiger is found in Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, Burma and Vietnam. The Indochinese tiger has a dark orange coat unlike any other coat.
The Bengal tiger
The Bengal tiger is the least extinct. with about 1500 to 2000 left.
Fun Facts
Tigers have 30 inch long teeth. Tigers usually die of starvation. this is so possible because once a tiger gets older their bones get brittle like human's and when they get older other young tigers want to challenge the older tigers and then they usually and get less territory and that means less food.
