Nicole Manalili Vasco Da Gama's first Voyage -Vasco Da Gama sailed from Lisbon, Portugal, on July 8,1497
-Some people thought the Indian Ocean wasn't connected to other seas, so they thought Da Gama's trip was going to be not possible...but they were wrong because he discovered they were connected
-Da Gama gathered Africa's Cape of Good Hope on November 22, and continued on to India
-Muslim traders did not want Da Gama and his fleet to interfere with their profitable trade routes
-After that Da Gama got to Calicut, India on May 20, 1498
-When he got there trade was good, but then they told him he had to pay a large tax so then he left on August 29, 1498
-Da Gama was told to leave all his goods but he didn't listen and took all his goods
-When he was on his way back many crew members died from a disease called scurvy
-Da Gama got to Lisbon Portugal in September, 1499
-Long after that voyage Vasco Da Gama died of a illness in India on December 24, 1524 Da Gama's affect -Some people thought the Indian Ocean wasn't connected to other seas, so they thought Da Gama's trip was going to be not possible...but they were wrong because he discovered they were connected Da Gamas Impact Da Gama's Second Voyage Da Gama's third voyage -He was sent on another voyage to india by King Manuel I from Portugal
-This time they took two Ships that were fully armed which caused problems for the Muslims
-Also on the second voyage Da Gama killed hundreds of Muslims -King Manuel dies
-King John III is in power
-King John sends Da Gama to India as his representive
-Vasco Da Gama dies on December 24, 1524 due to an illness -People thought Da Gama was smart and intelligent
-They thought he was brave to go to India
-although he got lost he had a smart idea by tricking someone to getting a GPS
