Transcript of The Hunger Games

The Hunger Games
is different and similar from

The Maze Runner
because what's different in

The Hunger Games
is that

the main characters are playing in a game, and it can be anyone that participates in the games. What's similar is that they both have to fight to survive, and they both have no choice to be there.
The Hunger Games
In
The Hunger Games
they are playing in these
games because the districts had a rebellion against the capital. In order to remember what happened, the Capital makes all the districts have one boy and one girl fight in the games for their enjoyment. In
The Maze Runner
The Creators put these boys in this maze because in the outside word there was a solar flair. It killed many people and let loose a disease called the flare and the creators are trying to find a cure. The difference is that in T
he Hunger Games
it's for entertainment and in
The Maze Runner
it's to find a cure.
In
The Hunger Game
s anyone can go into the games. Every district has to put all the people ages 12-18 into a draw. Girls and boys are separate in the draw and they pick one boy and one girl but it can be anyone. In districts 1 and 2 the teenagers volunteer to go into the games. In
The Maze Runner
The teenagers that are there got picked because they needed special kids that were smart so they could study their brain waves. Also some of the teenagers were immune to the flare. The difference is in
The Hunger Game
anyone can go into the games and in T
he Maze Runner
only special people went into the maze.
In
The Hunger Games
and
The Maze Runner
they both have no choice to be there. In
The Hunger Games
if you try and run the peace keepers will drag you to the train and force you to go to the games. In The Maze Runner the Creators took them when they were little and then they erased their memories and threw the Gladers into an elevator.
In the movie
The Hunger Games
fulfills the criteria for a dystopia because they are under constant surveillance, they live in a dictatorship, they live in a dehumanized state, the natural world is banished, information and freedoms restricted/controlled, and they conform to uniform expectations.
In
The Hunger Games
the tributes are under constant surveillance. When they are in the games katness was in a tree and she saw in the tree one of the cameras. In addition before they go into the games the peacekeepers put a tracking device in their arm so they know where they are.
In
The Hunger Games
they live in a dictatorship. The man who runs everything is President Snow. If he has a problem with anyone he can do anything he wants, for example the Head Game maker let two teenagers win the games so Snow kills him. In addition he also makes these teenagers go into these games to fight to the death so that the districts know that he has all the power.
In
The Hunger Games
they live in a dehumanized state. In district 12 they are starving to death and most of the people hunt for their food. In addition the Capital makes all the districts fight like animals when they're in the games.
Difference
Difference
Similar
In
The Hunger Game
and
The Maze
Runner
the teenagers both have to fight to survive. In
The Hunger Game
s the protagonist Katniss fights and kills four people. Two of the teenagers she shot with her bow and arrow and the other two she drops a beehive on them. In
The Maze Runner
the Gladers fight all the grievers. They were fighting the grievers to get out of the maze half of them died but the half that kept fighting survived and made it out of the maze.
Similar
In
The Hunger Games
the natural world is banished. In all the districts they are not allowed to leave and they have electrical fences and Peacekeepers that keep them in. If they leave their district, the punishment is they get their tongue cut out and they're a slave for the rest of their life.
In
The

Hunger Games
information and freedoms restricted/controlled.

The Capital said that they destroyed district 13 and if anyone rebels like they did the capital with do the same thing to them but district 13 is not destroyed. All the people in district 13 are under ground and living their life's.
In
The Hunger Games
they conform to uniform expectations. In the districts they all have to do the jobs that are given to them or they will be killed by the Peacekeepers. In district 1 they manufacture luxury items for the Capitol, in district 2 main industry is masonry, district 3 main industry is technology, district 4 industry is fishing, district 5 main industry is power and electricity, district 6 industry is transportation, district 7 provides lumber for the Capitol, district 8 industry is making textiles and clothing, district 9 is responsible for grain, district 10 industry is livestock, district 11 industry is agriculture, and district 12 industry is coal mining
In
The Hunger Games
it fulfills the
criteria for a dystopia protagonist
because Katness questions the societal system, and she helps the reader recognize the dystopian elements of her world through her perspective.
Katness questions the societal system.
When her and Peeta killed Kato the head game maker told them their has to be only one winner. Katness didn't want to kill Peeta so she took these poisons berries and said to Peeta " will eat these berries so we don't have to kill each other". The head Gamemaker panicked and said, " wait wait you both win".
Katness helps the reader recognize the dystopian elements of her world through her perspective. When she was in the tree hiding she saw a a little camera in the tree watching her every move. The dystopian element is that She is under constant surveillance.
Symbol
It suggest the inability of the Capitol to enforce their power over all living creatures. this symbol signs of resistance and rebellion.
Symbol
White Roses play a symbolic part of President Snow's persona. President Snow is known for smelling like blood and roses and tends to a costly rose garden.
