Lesson 3 Science.
Nucleotide-A molecule made of a nitrogen base, a sugar, and a phostate group.
Replication-The process of copying a DNA molecule to make another DNA molecule.
(RNA)-A type of nucleic acid that carries the code for making proteins from the nucleas to the cytoplasm.
Transcription-The process of making mRNA from DNA.
Translation-The process of making a protein from RNA.
Mutation-A change in the nucleotide sequence of a gene.
2.Use the term DNA and nucleotide in a sentence.
3.A change in the sequence of nitrogen bases in a gene is called a(n) _________.
4.Where does the process of transcription occur?
A.cytoplasm B.Ribisomes C.Cell nucleas D.Outside the Cell.
6.Distinguish between the sides of the DNA double helix and the teeth of the DNA double helix.
7.Identify The products of what process are shown in the figure below?
9.Hypothesize What would happen if a cell were unable to make mRNA?
Review Question answer's
1.The difference from translation and transcription are that translation makes a protein out of RNA and transcription makes mRNA from DNA.
3.It's called a mutation.
4.Transcription takes place in the cytoplasm.
5.Translation is the process of making a protein.
6.The regular DNA doesnt have a zipper and the DNA zipper is a zipper.
7.It is producing Two identical strands of DNA .
8.The DNA od each cell carries a complete set of genes that provides intructions to produce the or a protein.
9.If a cell were unable to make mRNA there will be no proteins.
10.The impotance is that a DNA thats not replicate might be produced.
