What is an expanded noun phrase?
Talk to your partner - do you know what an expanded noun phrase is?
Expanded noun phrases are groups of words that give extra detail to a noun.
For example:

the tall girl
Expanded noun phrases can improve your writing by painting a picture in your reader's head.
Can you include enough detail in your sentences to help your partner find the person you are writing about?
You will need four sentences. Here is an example:

1. I see a boy.
2. I see a small boy.
3. I see a small boy wearing a red shirt.
4. I see a small boy wearing a red shirt, holding a purple balloon.
