William Cooke and Charles Wheatstone developed the first electric telegraph to go into commercial service, which began operation in England.
This marked one of the first times ever using electrical devices for communication. 2.)Phones
Alexander Graham Bell was the original inventor of the telephone. The telephone sends ans recieves sounds for the simple purpose of allowing to people that are far apart to talk to each other. Modern phones can record spoken voice messages, play music, and surf
the internet to name a few. These modern phones
are known as smartphones. 1938: 3.)Radio Guglielmo Marconi was an Italian inventor who demonstrated the first radio signal that was sent and received in 1895. In 1899, the first wireless signal was sent across the English Channel. Because many people contributed to the invention of the radio, he isn't the true inventor but one of the drives that caused the
radio to exist. 4.)Television Philo Farnsworth made the world's first working television system, and he first demonstrated to the press on September 1st 1928. 5.)commercially made television sets
Television was an instant hit when it was first published. Televisions were made in the UK, US and the Soviet Union. The first company to make these types of televisions with Cathode ray tubes were Telefunken. 6.)Communications satellite
The first satellite to orbit the planet was sent by the Soviet Union. It was launched on October 4, 1957. It was equipped with an on-board radio transmitter. 7.)Fiber Optic Wire Robert Maurer, Donald Keck and Peter Schultz invented fiber optic wire or "Optical Waveguide Fibers" that carry 65,000 times more information than copper wire. There have been many other inventors, but this was one of the first
perfected fiber optics. 7.) Internet
The U.S State goverment was interested with the idea of computer networks and funded the creation of the internet. Because of the U.S. and private companies funding the project, it led to a worldwide participation to the creation of the
internet.Now, more than 2.2
billion people use the internet. 9.) MPEG Standards Also known as the Moving Picture Experts Group, it is a professional working group formed by the ISO and the IEC to set the standards for audio and video compression and transmission. The group was established by Hiroshi Yasuda and Leonardo Chiariglione 10.)Smartphone Designed by IBM, it was the first smartphone to be published to the public. It had a calendar, address book, world clock, calculator, address book entries, email, send and receive FAX and included games. I had no buttons to dial.
