pros and cons What is a HAcker?
A hacker is a
person who is skilled in
breaking into the computer
of others, but does not intend
to do harm Pros of hacking-
When a hacker is hired
he or she can be given a specific
job or way to hack into a computer.
This can give a company important
insight of possible back doors or openings
in the company's security Cons-Though you are paying a hacker to break into your system, you never know whatelse they might do. An example of this is hiring a cheap "reformed" black hat hacker. Black hat hackers can break into your system and steal information or if in the hacker you hired could leave possible back doors into your system.
Another con is if the hacker is inexperience he or she might leave harmful programes. What is a Cracker? A cracker is a person who breaks into computers in order to obtain personal information, a profit, maliciously, for some altruistic purpose or cause, or because the challenge is there. Though hackers didn't intend to do harm it is a crime. Due to the laws enacted through out the world, Hacking and Cracking have been deem a crime and can serve up to a year in prsion. The companies agents have traced the hacker's tools to China. The report also states, in the 2010 defence department, most recent attacks have orginated from China. In the beginning, the term hacker was a complimentary work for a computer enthusiast. Now it is used to brand people who do illegal things to today's technology. While, crackers from the start was people who broke into computers or network illegally for nefarious purposes. In the early 1960s, the first hackers arrived from universities. Their groups consist of MIT students. There goals were noble and they only wanted to push computers to their limit and beyond. However as the years go on, the hacker morality has degraded. The first incident of an illegal hacking was in 1983. 6)
