Who Was Jose Echegaray Y Eizaguirre?
Echegaray was not only a mathematician but he was also a play writer
In 1867 he wrote la hija natural but remained unknowned until it later reappeared as para tal culpa pena.
he also wrote la ultima noche, and el libro talonario.

Jose echegaray y Eizaguirre died on sept 4 1916 in his home town Madrid spain but not before winning a noble prize for his literature in 1904.
What kind of Mathematician?
Echegaray was a professor at the school of civil engineers where he taught descriptive geometry, stone cutting, calculus, and hydraulic mechanics.
In 1868 he made the first written statement of the theory of deteminates.
He was known as a good teacher who could disclose complicated scientific problems
