Could You Be An Entrepreneur?
Tony Hawk decided to establish a foundation whose mission would be to serve this population. He wanted to help them develop quality places to practice the sport that gives them much needed exercise and a sense of self-esteem. So in 2002 he established the Tony Hawk Foundation, financed the organization with a personal gift, and assembled a Board of Directors that represents a diverse range of backgrounds and expertise. To-date, the foundation has awarded over $5.1-million to 544 public skatepark projects in 50 States, and $100,000 to support the Skateistan program in Afghanistan, Cambodia, and South Africa.
Tony's Contribution Cont.
Tony's work has impacted our society greatly in a lot of ways. To-date, 451 Tony Hawk Foundation grant recipients have opened their skateparks. That means that more than 4.8-million youth annually actively use facilities that received financial aid and development guidance from the Tony Hawk Foundation. I don't believe Tony had to alter his plans along the way because since he was twelve years old he had been into the skateboarding world. Tony Hawk is a great role model i think, I learned that he started his own foundation and that he still funds it. This inspires me because he gave back to the community and also the world and i would also like to do this one day.

FASHION & SPORTS
Anthony Hawk is an American former professional skateboarder and actor. He was born in San Diego, CA on May 12, 1968. When he was nine, he received a skateboard from his older brother which started off all his adventures. By the age of 12, he got his first sponsor, Dogtown skateboards. Two years later, he became a professional skateboarder. He was intelligent, high-strung, and hyperactive-combination his mother once described as "challenging." I personally don't think Tony's background influenced his choices or outcomes in any way because his background has nothing related to this sport.
