1295 - 1912 Qing Dynasty
1644 - 1912 - Confucius <<Lun Yu>>
Collection of sayings and ideas attributed to the Chinese philosopher Confucius and his contemporaries.
Confucius's real name is "Kong Qiu"
Confucius' ideas are still relevant in today's society. - Si Ma Qian <<SHI JI>> Han Dynasty
Stories include returning the Jade to emperor, two countries emperor playing drums and apologizing
Very famous universal history of early China and the first official dynastic histories.
Lin Xiang Ru, one of the characters, was a very intelligent man and he saved his country several times. - Wu Cheng En <<Xi You Ji>> Ming Dynasty
Story of Sun Wu Kong, Tang Seng and other students traveling. They meet a devil who tries to eat Tang Seng, but Sun Wu Kong kills her at the end.
Sun Wu Kong, the Monkey King, is very powerful and has very magical powers. Han ~ Yuan Dynasty
220 AD - 1294 - Luo Guan Zhong <<San Guo Yan Yi>> Yuan to Ming
About three countries fighting each other. One story included "Shu" making fake soldiers to fight "Wei"

Story of 108 people rebelling against the government.
Wu Song is a brave man who kills a tiger living on the hill.
There was a flower monk, who drank a lot of wine and picked up a willow from the ground. Modern Era
1911 - 1947 - Cao Xue Qin <<Hong Lou Meng>> Qing Dyansty
Love story of three people. The main character is Jia Bao Yu. He likes to be with many girls. Hong Lou building has twelve women living there. Many any of those women serve as servants.
I think the story is quite interesting as it revolves around a man being with many girls, which is quite unusual in Chinese writings. - Bing Xin <<Xiao Ju Deng>>
Story of a woman who goes to her friend's house. However, in the house she encounters a little girl who is crawling on the floor and wants to call her mom. The woman helps the little girl and goes to her house to give medicine to the little girl's ill mom. Finally at the end, the little girl gives the woman a Xiao Ju Deng.
This story was very unique, the character of the little girl was very brave and caring. Modern Era
1911 - 1947 - Zhu Zi Qing <<Bei Ying>>
Story of a boy used to live with his grandma and father. His father used to drop him to school everyday. Then one day his grandma died. Later on, the boy moved to Beijing and went to college. His father went to buy him oranges, and the boy saw his father's back.
This story symbolizes the father's back as something that the boy remembers. - Zhu Zi Qing <<Chun>>
Description of the spring season. It describes the sound we hear, the scent we smell, and the imagery we see during the season of Spring.
It uses many rhetorical strategies like Bi Yu, Ni Ren, and Pai Bi. These make the text interesting and fluent. Modern Era
1911 - 1947 - Lao She <<Ji Nan De Dong Tian>>
Story about the winters of Ji Nan. These winters differ from those in London and other places.
This story also uses the rhetorical strategies which help emphasize the winter season. - Lao She <<Luo Tuo Xiang Zi>>
Story about the disadvantages of the sweltering heat and the rainy season. It depicts the poor life of those people who have to work in the heat. Many of them die of the heat. The rain is also a hard season for them.
Lao She describes the heat very well and the characters are very pitiful. It shows the hard life of the workers. Modern Era
1911 - 1947 - Lu Shun <<Teng Ye Xian Sheng>>
Story about Lu Shun who goes to Japan to study medicine. However, he changes his mind when he sees that the Chinese people were clapping at a movie about Chinese captives in the war. Lu Shun pursues the field of philosophy.
His first teacher is Teng Ye Xian Sheng. This teacher is very kind and take cares of his students. - Lu Shun <<Cong Bai Cao Yuan dai San Wei Shu Wu>>
Story of Lu Shun's paradise. He describes the garden and the type of insects that live there. This is Lu Shun's favorite place.
This story was very unique as it describes someone's personal paradise and how one feel's happy at places.
