How does this work?
WIND AND WAVE ENERGY
Ocean waves are conjured up by land waves. Wind is made through the uneven heating of land and water. Convection occurs because of the different temperatures and wind is formed. The wind is then pushed upward to oceans because cool and warm air meet. The kinetic energy is transferred from the wind to the water creating waves. The wave hits the chambers of the turbines then changing the water levels and air compression. Which the generators then create electricity.
Wave energy is transmitted to the wind energy generated by the ocean

Surprisingly large destructive waves can have tons of boulders thrown many meters high. Damaging nerby areas.
How does wind and wave energy help the environment?
Wave power is renewable, free of pollution and invisible to the environment. Its net potential is better than small hydro or biomass power.
Wind power consumes no fuel and creates no air pollution during operation. Wind power is also renewable because wind is forever in motion.
how does wind and wave energy damage the environment?
A company called pelamis wave power are developing an offshore method of wave energy collection, with the use of floating tubes called pelamis.
The Renewable Energy Holdings are generating a wave power method called CETO. It uses undersea equipment near the coast. Waves that pass the unit make a piston like move which then pumps seawater to run generators on land, creating electricity.
The Oyster wave energy method. waves flow through the device pumping hydraulic fluid to a shore generator, producing electricity.
Wave energy can only be suitable in certain area like towns and power plants.This type of energy also effects the marine ecosystem and disturbs the environment and people living in the area where the construction is built.
In order to build the turbine (that generates wind), the materials needed must be mined, manufactured, processed like all power plants ,which brings some harm to the environment.
Costs of wind turbines
The costs of wind turbines, including material fees, electrical outputs of the project, the construction cost and support facility equipment, all together costs $2,250- $2,500 per a million turbines
Costs of waves turbines
Since technology these days are improving, it is estimated that the new cost of wave generators used to produce electricity is comparable to the extremely cheap and well- worth wind turbines( 4.5 cents Kilowatts per hour[kWh]. The best wave generator [for now] is in the UK, which produces energy at an average of 7.5 cents kWh.
... but in comparison...
a lot of electricity generators are very good cost- wise too like...
-coal burning power plants=2.6 cents kWh
-combined- cycle natural gas turbines= 3 cents kWh or higher
- usually most electricity generators are 5 cents or less kWh
... the reason why wave energy is more expensive is because wave and wind energy is natural and there is an unlimited supply. It doesn't produce as much greenhouse gases, unlike coal- burning power plants, which create tons, and combined- cycle natural gas turbines which don't create as much greenhouse gases but still creates some. Even though combined- cycle natural gas turbines and coal burning power plants are cheap, its better to be safe than sorry with what generating source you use. Cheap things are not always the best.

Benefits of wind energy
Wind energy is free and wind farms do not need fuel to create energy, does not produce green house gases or waste. The land underneath the wind farms can still be used for agriculture. Wind farms can attract tourist and overall, it is a great way to produce energy to remoted areas.
Benefits of wave energy
Wave energy is free. No fuel is needed and theirs no waste produce. Its also, not expensive to operate and it has a fairly low cost.Wave energy is renewable and produces a great amount of energy.Theres a lot of ways to store and create this type of energy.It is widely available and it is easy to predict how much energy it produces.
Natural resources needed to produce wind energy.
To produce wind energy the two most important natural resources needed is an open area (coastal area) and wind. Wind energy is one of the simplest ways to produce energy. For example, Wind farms should be put at the top of round hills. In open parries and gaps in mountains, or any place where wind is strong.You need an average wind speed of 25km/h.Some examples of famous wind farms are in united kingdom.

Cost of Wave energy
Wave energy is 7.5 cents per kilowatts for one hour! You might think that it is very cheap, right? Well it is a good price for what it produces . But, compared to other energy sources like coal- burning power plants( 2.6 cents kWh) or combined cycle natural gas turbines( 3 cents) which are lower than 5 cents( the average price of energy sources), it is pretty expensive.
