Transcript of Leadership Sermon 7.18

You Know You've Experienced God When . . . . You KNOW you've experienced God WHEN Leaders Do What Jesus Did “On their release, Peter and John went back to their own people and reported all that the chief priests and the elders had said to them. When they heard this, they raised their voices together in prayer to God.”(Acts 4:23–24 TNIV) “After they prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God boldly.”(Acts 4:31 TNIV) “But many who heard the message believed; so the number of men who believed grew to about five thousand.”(Acts 4:4 TNIV) “Then Peter said, “Silver or gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk.””(Acts 3:6 TNIV) WHEN Followers Become Leaders and Do What Jesus Did You KNOW you've experienced God . . . there are known knowns; there are things we know we know.
We also know there are known unknowns;
that is to say we know there are some things we do not know.
But there are also unknown unknowns --
the ones we don't know we don't know.

Donald Rumsfield
What is a Leader? AND What is a Follower? Both healings happen at gates to the Temple (The Sheep Gate and The Beautiful Gate).
Both men are lame and cannot walk.
Both men have been so from birth or early childhood.
Both men are counting on “extra” grace since they cannot access God’s grace through the “normal” channels.
Both men are healed with a single commanded: “walk!” “Then Peter said, “Silver or gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk.””(Acts 3:6 TNIV) Leaders DO what Jesus would DO “Now, Lord, consider their threats and enable your servants to speak your word with great boldness. Stretch out your hand to heal and perform signs and wonders through the name of your holy servant Jesus.””(Acts 4:29–30 TNIV)
