Transcript of Ancient VS. Modern Medical Practices

Herbs
Both modern and ancient medicine contributed herbs and natural remedies to help with illness. Medicine for both timer periods are used to prevent these illnesses.
What similarities do you see in current-day medicine and medicine in ancient times?
From each culture, what would you describe as the two most important contributions to modern medicine?
I believe that the two most important contributions to modern medicine was the contribution of different prognosis of an illness and using those symptoms to compare them to past illnesses. There were also terms created to describe the illness and creating methods of treatment.
What differences do you see in current-day medicine and medicine in ancient times?
Medicine has progressed majorly as time has gone by. Modern medicine has become far mroe advanced in treating illnesses that couldn't be detected in the ancient times. The observation of these diseases has also changed. Illnesses have been shown to not only be physical, but mentally as well. Medicine today is based more on technology rather than spiritually.
Ancient VS. Modern Medical Practices
From each culture, what two practices did you find to be the most interesting? Why?
I found the spiritual process to be the most interesting during the ancient medicine practices and I found the technology advancements for the modern times to be the most interesting.
If you were living in each culture, what role could you play or what would you want to contribute to health care during this time?
I would want to play as an actual practioner or doctor to contribute to health care during this time. Being a woman during the ancient times would be a bit tough, but I would gain the education and experience necessary.
